Had a recent "discussion" online with someone asking me if the "piped-in engine noise was distracting?"

Fake engine noise piped into the cabin? I knew they were doing this with the new Tundras, but not the PB. I vigorously denied it. My PowerBoost is dead quiet at speed even with the ICE engaged.

(and yes, I'm not talking about the EV drive spaceship noise on the outside whilst ICE disengaged)

What say ye?

It is my understanding that all models except for the 5.0 use exhaust enhancement (or whatever Ford calls it)

now I wonder what it would sound like if I enabled it with forscan on the 5.0

I have turned it off on every vehicle that I have had - Yes the PB also has it.

1. The audio systems sounds much better - not struggling to pay the engine drone + audio source.
2. Quieter cabin overall.

Forscan can disable it

Where exactly in forscan is this? If it’s on in my PB I’ve either never noticed it or somehow it’s off. Just to be clear on the PB we are not talking about that stupid ped sounder which I have disabled in forscan. You guys are speaking of fake engine noise coming thru the audio system right?

Fake engine noise yes, not the external pedestrian sounder.
If you turn it off in forscan you will notice it. Try it and hear the diff.

Check the spreadsheet in the forscan thread, it's on the main google sheet.

Remember when you were a kid and clothespinned playing cards to the spokes?? Same thing.
I still haven't been able to get the specifics on how to disable it with Forscan. People post "I disabled it with Forscan", but never give specifics. I have a 22 Platinum Powerboost. Suggestions? (please)

all models, do you mean all engines except 5.0 (including 2.7EB)? I've read about this on several threads and forums, not sure I found anything definitive about my truck engine. Honestly, my truck is quiet as heck. Although I do admit my old-ass self may contribute to that.
