Good gosh, best mod yet! I thought something was horribly wrong with the inverter or electric motor, it was the damn speaker!
For those complaining about sneaking up on a pedestrian stop worrying, all the other stuff / engine components or whatever they are make way more noise than any Tesla

I just ordered the parts to do the mod. After taking a week of crap from the guys I hunt with about how loud my truck was and the beeping...

Best one was that it was like that hot girl you see at a party but then she opens her mouth and sounds like a harpy! And of course the trash truck beep.

Holy hell, I spent an hour trying to unplug the speaker today before I gave up. Tried the hooked pick, dropped the lower radiator support, still could not get it unplugged. Any other suggestions before I cut the dang wire and hard wire this thing in?

I went this route to detach the plug. Don’t tell the wife!

Well, I figured out my issue. Apparently I got a bit too aggressive with the hooked pick and broke off some of the release tab. Luckily I was able to get a 10mm socket through the holes in the active air dam and receive the one screw holding the speaker in, it then twists and comes out. Used a small flat head screwdriver to release the plug from the other side and got it off. Leaving the speaker out for now, I figure the weight savings should be worth 1 mpg. Now to go test drive and enjoy the silence.

You won't regret it. Completely changes the experience of driving this truck.
