Found a couple paint imperfections when washing my 2021 Lariat for the first time. Brought to the Dealers attention and they were more than happy to fix the issues.
Made an appointment for a couple weeks out. When I brought it in they had a Courtesy car waiting for me. Took 2 days and everything was taken care of no questions asked.

On a 2011 F-150 I had , I had welding wire broken off and painted over on my roof. You would be surprised how many inspections missed that.

This is the first Ford product I have owned. After our third child was born I decided to get rid of 2019 Lexus GX for a 21 Lariat, 5.0 502A. Special order, etc., and took delivery last month. Literally took home with wrapping on vehicle and 17 mi on odometer. Super excited

Out of the gate, jokes aside about import build quality vs. domestic, it is pretty shocking that a $64k vehicle would be sent out for delivery with such poor build quality. Scratches on seats, interior panels had scratches, air dam scratched and, biggest issue - paint.

**Multiple clear coat nibs on hood.

**Drip/run on hood edge.

**Clear coat nib polished out at factory (can see smooth vs orange peel around area) and white/grey undercoat dip now visible.

**Scratch on A pillar touched up with pen and sloppy brush of clear coat!!

In posting this, I will readily admit that I am something of a perfectionist when it comes to vehicles, but wanted to see if anyone else has had similar paint issues. The chipped paint is simply mind blowing. I cannot imagine how anyone thought that it would be acceptable. And, given the location, I am not excited about the idea of having it repainted.

Would love to hear from others.

Good afternoon! Would you please send us a private message with your VIN and mileage so we can look into these issues for you? I'd love to help you sort this out so you can get back to enjoying your F-150 Lariat carefree!

I am a car enthusiast and do my own detailing. I told the dealer to “lightly wash it” before taking delivery, as I was wanting to avoid any swirl marks or abrasions from a hastily prepped truck. I was worried he might be offended by this, but did not seem to be bothered at all. Last weekend when I arrived home from the dealer, I clayed, polished and sealed it. So, I went over every inch. Looked great. No issues at all. So sorry some have had the opposite experience. I know how heartbreaking that can be.

Hard to believe that someone did not see that at the factory before it went out. Kansas City build?
Since it is a PowerBoost it was built in Dearborne. Kansas City doesn't build the Powerboost. . What pissed me off more, Was that the delivering dealer didn’t catch it either.

My truck had a minor scuff in the clear on the front of the hood, but otherwise I couldn't find a single flaw in it. One of the reasons I actually went with a Ford was after seeing the horrific paint on both of my fathers 2021 GMC Sierra Denalis. The first one was so bad he ended up returning the truck for a the second one, and the second one now has a random spot in the fender where the paint fell off about the size of a dime down to the E-coat.

I just took delivery of my truck today after it sat in Kansas City for about 2 months on a parts hold and boy oh boy where do I begin.

Severe damage on the roof around the moonroof.

On top of this, none of the audio in the truck works, along with the GPS and the entirety of FordPass. My dealer is great and I have no doubt it will all get fixed, but I guess I post this as a warning to the people with trucks sitting for an extended period of time in KC to really do a good inspection on your truck when you finally take delivery. My family has owned about 15 new Ford’s in my life and none have even come close to this.

Wow, so sorry this happened to you. Maybe the Ford guy here can help out.

It appears that the Space White (3 stage paint has a low tolerance badly prepared surfaces). has the problems, I would think with the extra cost for the paint this would be part of it.

The Dealer should have at least picked up on it.
My detailer picked it up when pain correcting and started to install the ceramic pro. Otherwise it would have been years, later and a fight to get it fixed.

I’ve had my 21 XLT for a little over two weeks now and I have noticed quite a few paint defects during my first detail. I’ve had 4 F-150’s and this is the first one that I have had this many paint issues. Honestly, I am shocked for a vehicle that costs over 56k you would expect better build quality. The edge of the hood has multiple runs/bubbles and is rough. The rear tailgate has a high spot/bubble in the corner. I love my truck I spent weeks looking for the right one with all the options I wanted but this kind of ruined the experience for me a bit I must say.

Found this on my 22 that delivered yesterday. Worth messing with?

My tailgate is crazy chipped – dealer "repaired it" right away, but after 15k miles, and several powerwashes later, they're still there. I'm not sure. I'll probably just live w/ it. It's a truck afterall and the body is aluminum. What's the worst that can happen? (please tell me!)

But I have noticed the rails get crazy chipped. More so than a lot of other trucks I've owned. And the funny bit is, Ford seemed to rhino line under the pain for a good portion of the rails, but not all of it. And now, my truck is littered w/ chips under there (I have mud guards too).

I literally just washed my truck and found a TON of Rail Dust. Anyone have a good truck to removing this? I'm thinking of using Iron-X, but seeing as the truck is only 9 months old, I really don't want to damage the clear coat.

I decided to just live with my factory defects pictured above (unless they get worse).

I recently noticed a ton of chips under my doors too. I added the Ford mud guards last weekend. My 2020 F150 had the rough paint the entire length but my 2022 only has partial like you said. I’m thinking about having someone do paint matched line x or something.

My understanding was that Iron-X is pretty safe on clear coat. You've read/heard differently?
