I’ve had my truck for about 5 months now and I’ll be honest I haven’t really given it a real wash until last week. While drying the hood I felt what I thought was some sap or something but it wasn’t coming off. I looked closer and it’s some type of debris/paint imperfection UNDER the clear coat. It’s right at the front of the passenger side hood ridge just to the left of center if looking from the front.
I had a service appointment for Monday regarding some other quality issues that got rectified without any real push back. Today the dealer told me they took it to their detailer and said there’s nothing they can do as it’s under the paint. I replied back (it was text message) saying isn’t that a warranty issue? I didn’t get a response and they closed about a few minutes after. Given how quick they were to fix my other issues I don’t think they are being shady but this is something Ford would need to fix or reimburse if I seek to have it fixed?
It seems petty but the price isn’t very petty so I feel it’s something they would need to fix. I don’t have any photos of it but I’ll take some when I go to the dealership tomorrow.
I had an issue with my Tacoma where it looked like some nicks in the paint that was then cleared over. They told me the option would be an entire repaint but since there was no issue in the clear and being young I said forget it. So I know some manufacturers/dealers would try to make it right.
