Placed my order for a 22' F150 today with Chapman Ford. My 21' was ordered on January 21st from a different, local dealer. 6 months later it finally shipped and my excitement was building again. That excitement slowly faded when the truck hadn't shown up after 2 months of being "in transit". After my patience deteriorated(I didn't NEED the truck) I began pressuring my dealer for answers. Their ford rep took my VIN and hasn't gotten back since, she doesn't know where it is. I did some of my own research based on the VVR of other trucks I know followed my trucks path and were delivered. Each report has detailed points stating exactly where the truck is, the train number and certain stops along the way. After comparing mine and another trucks report. I got the gut feeling that I wasn't getting my truck. Soon after, my salesmen called, and told me his manager thinks my truck was on the train that derailed back in August. We're now 2 months later and I'm just potentially finding out. I say potentially because I still don't have a solid answer on the whereabouts of it or if it was on the train. So I ordered a new truck, without being able to use any of the deals Ford is issuing for unscheduled orders. Also, had to extend my lease out again until February. This has been a nightmare process, and it's nice to see Ford couldn't care less about it. I needed to rant and vent a little bit due to frustration and incompetence. Maybe I'll get it a year after I ordered the first one.

Sorry to hear that. Though my ordeal is nowhere as bad as yours, mine was very frustrating. 7 months to build. Little to no communication from my dealer, or Ford. I always had to initiate a conversation. Finally complained to a Ford Executive on Linkedin. My dealership called the next day. They emailed their higher, and 3 days later it was built. Guess the lazy sales team "forgot" to escalate when it missed it's first 2 build dates (7 in total) I can't fathom how a company with over 100+ years of experience can treat customers like crap. I get better order/ shipping communication from a T-Shirt company. Ford sucks! Not the products. Good luck, God bless.

I ask this with genuine interest with no tone/hidden message, but why are you giving Ford your business when they clearly don't deserve it? What is it about Ford that has you ordering again?

For what it is worth, I am generally happy with the expensive F150 I purchased but not worth the hassle or poor service many others including you have experienced from Ford.

Ford absolutely does not deserve my money. My problem is I just don’t like anything else out there. Closest thing would maybe be the tundra, but I’d really like a v8. If there was another truck I liked, I’d be gone in a heartbeat

If you push them to escalate, they may be able to get you a higher priority, and get built quick.

Seems quick for a 22. Dearborn doesn’t start til November and Kansas City is December. I’m hoping for a January delivery

Has anyone received a VIN number for a 2022 order? Will that not happen until production of the 2022 actually begins?

4-6 weeks from order to delivery? That sounds like best case pre pandemic timelines.

Just to update. I've contacted them on twitter and gave them my info and also called them where the women on the phone said they can't give anything out because there is an investigation open apparently. My dealer didn't tell me that

4 weeks was what took just to have my VIN. Based on what I've seen here , I doubt that this 4 weeks is even possible.
As the others said, 2022 production starts only on November 15th if I'm not wrong.
I placed my order with Chapman on 8/27, and they were super clear that it could take up to 6 months.

Dont worry it will be here faster around 1-2 weeks, it takes only one day to assemble full truck so maybe you will get it even faster.

Grew up in a neighborhood as a kid where anyone that owned a Chevy bragged about it like God himself made it. Badass bowtie, etc., etc. Irritated the heck out of me. Government Motors? No thanks. Always liked my previous F-150's and all the way back to my Eddie Bauer 1989 Bronco Black and Tan! Love the truck despise the company!

I guessed as much and makes sense. I originally was going to buy a Ram buy preferred the American made F150 and Powerboost. Aside from poor service from the Ford dealers, I've been lucky so far. I am in the market for a new SUV and definitely looking well beyond Ford based on how I've seen and heard Ford treat customers.
