The charging port also includes a NACS and a few 120V outlets on the SUV. Not sure if those are on the truck as well since it has a bed

That's because people who can't stand getting dirt under their fingernails like to act like they're about to blaze a trail through the Rockies at a moment's notice.

You know the type.
Yes I live in Southern California, vain town USA , lol still I’m blessed and thankful for all I have in life.

I really like the look of it, but even this F150 is almost too tech for true off-road. Lots of sensors, warnings, automated brakings etc. If theres an option to disable a lot of those things I'd be super interested. When I get onto legit sketchy trails, I miss my 7.3 excursion that was just gas/brake/go!

As a 67 IH Scout 800 owner- this rollout is-well not appealing. I mean when off roading, who wants comforts like AC, Heat or safety stuff like airbags and seatbelts- I'll just stick to my old 67 these new scouts have nothing I need- I have a 2023 F150 STX 4X4 for all the poofy stuff. LOL

When my old Exploder died, I kept the front and rear differential and steering as well as the front and rear upper and lower control arms and brakes. SOME DAY, I would like to get an old Exploder for cheap, use that as a rig to build a far better off road frame, and then install those components into it. I think that front and rear electric motors would be way simpler, though at present battery costs would push the cost of this project up to $100k easily.

If I ever wind up doing that, it will NOT have AC.

It only says the charger is two way. Useful in a power outage but not out in the woods. I'm guessing Ford has the concept of pro power heavily protected by patents.

I'm curious on performance of the gas extended version. If it can go on long road trip running solely on gas with nowhere to plug in then it will be successful.
1. From their press release:
The Scout Terra (the truck one) will feature a 5.5-foot pickup bed which offers two 120V power outlets and one 240V power outlet—power for heavy-duty tools at a jobsite or to keep your home appliances running during an outage.

2. The WAG is (supposedly from a Scout engineer), on the EREV (~500+ mile range target), since it has a smaller battery than the pure EV (~350 mile range target), the range extender IC engine starts recharging the battery after ~150 mile range. We'll see, no details yet. My SWAG is the 'range extender' option might cost north of $10k (ouch).

My first vehicle was a 4wd green international harvester step-side, similar to this:

Ford F-150 Official: Scout EV Pickup & SUV debut w/ Gas Range Extender, 4x4, BOF, Lockers, Sway Bar Disconnect -- All Specs, Wallpapers, Videos 200c-stepside-4x4-vintage-pickup-runs-and-drives-1

No power steering or power brakes...
It took two hands and two feet to get it to turn or stop with any amount of quickness, but it did teach me to look farther ahead and not follow too close.

Maybe someday I'll get an electric one, but for now I'm happy with my powerboost!

I was thinking a raptor would be my next truck , but I think this takes the cake. Unless ford comes out with a hybrid raptor 👀.

I like how Volkwagen is handling the scout brand, trying to keep its roots close to America with this one unlike ram becoming more European. I think the ea888 would make the perfect range extender for this. Was very happy with it in my GTI, torquey and efficient
