Got my new 21 F150 in May. Since then, done a few camping trips pulling a trailer. Thought recently to check my tire pressure, but the numbers seem odd.

Max PSI from tire wall: 51
Current PSI from cold: 39 or 40
Recommended PSI from door jam sticker: 35

So the tires were over-inflated at the dealership from the spec on the door, or is the door values based on what the ideal PSI should be if I'm running max payload?

If you're running P rated tires, then I get them up to 45-50psi cold when towing and 35-38 cold when not towing. Would be interested in knowing if you had any issues towing with the stock tires though. Most people recommend D or E rated tires for towing. What weight and length camper do you have ?

They ship over inflated.

Dealer prep is supposed to get them down to door spec.

Camper length is 30' from back to back to trailer coupler, dry is just over 6000 lbs (we never get it more than 6500 lbs when we load it).

I'm not sure how to interpret the tire rating either...I've got Michilen Primacy XC tires with the values 275/65R18 but there's no leading P or LT in front of it.
