Hard to notice but rattling sound / metal on metal? I am thinking waste gate rattle? at about 41 seconds you can hear it better when the RPM's drop

My newly purchased 2.7 CPO does this. It is at the dealer for routine maintenance but I asked the service advisor to check for that very issue. I will report back.

Following. I came here to post about start up noises on my 2.7 ecoboost. This is my second F150 with that engine. My first was a 2017, this is a 2023.
I notice a similar rattle (sounds like a loose heat shield) coming from in front of the firewall on the driver's side. I also notice a bit of a whine sound. My first 2.7 had none of these sounds.

I also noticed that with my 23, I can hear the turbo spooling pretty easily. It was undetectable on my 17. I wonder if Ford compromised on idle noise for the sake of some audible turbo noise?

Ok...promised follow up. Dealership did an incredible job looking over the entire truck. I told them to make it perfect (they did, man the $$$).

But, regarding this issue, they told me it was normal for the 2.7 and the guys who worked on it have the same engine and theirs do it to. Nothing to fear.

Regarding turbo noise, yes, my '21 is very obvious. However, coming from the bearing spinning 3.4 in the Tundra, that was normal.

Ok, I was able to fix mine with a spring. going to test out for next week, if continues to work I will post a write up
Please do... Mine has the same rattle sound on start up and it just sounds bad. I also hear the turbos spool up and the blow off valve if I'm driving slow in the neighborhood with the window down.

I hear turbos far more on this truck with 2.7 than I ever heard on my old 3.5

Does make me wonder if there is something missing for sound. It doesn't really bother me, but found it odd to be louder.

Nice... did the waste gate rattle by hand before you added the springs or just when you first started the engine? Is it just a sloppy linkage?

Should you use the brake line as an attachment point? Could there be a rubbing issue or metal corrosion? How much force is the spring applying?

I had same thought. Put on bracket not the line itself. Looks like frame hole where bracket is attached the spring could hook there.

I'm not even sure I have the noise that this is supposed to fix but it is an interesting idea.
