I started my 2022 return this afternoon,

questions this year in my tax software sure seem awfully intrusive compared to last year

Hmmm, didn't notice anything like that on mine.

In the queue and automatically E-filed on opening day Monday 1/23; refund showed pending to my bank that Friday, actually deposited in my account on following Monday 1/30.

the crytpo stuff and investing overseas was asked 3 times in different areas .
i guess i look like mr bankman?

i wait until after 31st to start, as IRS can and will make changes up until then. well they do after the fact to, but all the banks and investments stuff has to be provided by 31st to the individual
i will finish this afternoon and get it in the que for monday and see where i land for refund deposit
