Thanks for the feedback, I will look into the Coopers. If I had to go to an E, I was also considering a Toyo OC AT3’s…
I’ve heard great things about those and considered them too, but opted against the additional weight and cost. If I upgrade to e-rated they will be at the top of my list.

I can’t speak for the 295 folks, but I think a contributing factor aside from looks is protection from curbs, since the 295 will spill outside the bead more, it will provide more rim protection than the 275.

I think a high quality non E rated tire will serve the majority quite well. Doesn’t take a long look around the forum to find folks towing pretty large loads on stock passenger rated tires 🤷‍♂️

I want to know also!
Honestly, just think it fills the space better. My 295/60 Coopers are 61 lbs and the 275/65 Recons are 48 lbs. So for travel (no trailer) and winter weather I will run the Recons on the stock Sport 20s.

Those look great. I see a lot of people running 295’s. Other than looks, any additional benefits versus the 275?
For me it was primarily the overall look. More tire to avoid curb rash on the rim is a good idea too if you are investing in aftermarket wheels. I can’t speak on towing as I rarely tow anything. I’ve run the 275’s as well on my old truck which was a 2016 F-150 3.5 ecoboost. I’m getting better gas mileage on the 22’ F-150 5.0 V8 by about 2 mpg hwy and equal mpg all around running the 295’s so I’m happy with that. These trucks look great with either tire setup so to each his own!!!

I’m running 295/60/20 Nitto Recon Grapplers and they have been great thus far. I only have about 1,000 miles on them as the truck is brand new. I’ve run Terra Grapplers & Ridge Grapplers on my previous truck and liked them both.

I just saw a video of your truck on youtube. I know they usually do a +20 offset with these tires but yours are a +1. How much if any trimming was done? Did they have to touch crash bars?

No trimming and no modifications to the crash bars. I had a 2016 F150 before this truck and I did have to remove the crash bars to get this size tire on the truck.

hey all,
I have been following this this thread and have a few questions.
Currently I have a 2021 STX FX4, leveled on 33 inch 12.5 r20LT Nitto Ridge Grapplers/stock wheels.
My tires give a "bulge" appearance that I don't like. These tires have about 50k miles on them and when the time comes I want to go with with either 295 60 r20 or 275 60 r20. Which tire will give me a more taller, sleeker looking tire?

Discount Tire has the Recon Grappler in a 275/65/20 SL

Discount Tire Link

I called to confirm this. I wasn’t aware that they made at 275/65/20. Has anyone ran this? If so your thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
Yes, but they are much much heavier. You can get the 275/60/20s in p metric and they only weigh 47lbs each. You can get 1 size bigger, the size you want 275/65/20, in the new Recon Grappler and they are only 1 lb heavier than the 275/60/20 ridge grappler.

i had the 275/60/20 ridge grapplers on my 2017 platinum and loved them. On my 22’ platinum I went with the 275/65/20 recon grappler. Only 400 miles but can tell they are a tiny bit quieter.

here are pics of both trucks. New truck hasn’t been leveled yet and no rubbing with the 34s

I have 275/65/20 terra grapplers in SL and they are great, if ridge grapplers were available a few months ago I would have gone with them but the SL version was just released, same weight as the terra grapplers I have, great gas mileage and ride

Just confirming as I've been looking all over for this info. The 275/65 20 Recon Grapplers fit with no rubbing? No level? Stock OEM 20 inch wheels? THANKS!!!
