FWIW I did the same and visually they looked fine. Snapped the center cap off. Snapped it back on When I put a wrench on it they came off in my hand with almost no pressure. Almost like they had just enough thread to stay in place, but still snapped inside. Put a socket on the bolt and give it some torque. Might be just hanging in place with about 2-3 threads holding on.

Timeline for last week.
oil change on Monday.
“inspection” was Tuesday when I took it back. I handed the service advisor the broken bolt. Consider that the inspection. Parts were ordered and or in stock and I had my truck back by Friday afternoon same week. Attaching paperwork info. Truck feels new again…I just wish I would have tested with a socket instead of a visual inspection and calling it good. Hope this helps some of you.

Seems like the axle assembly has inflation of around $100+ per side?

Poor memory perhaps, but I thought I remembered it being around $440 per side. Or $471.00

Something like that.

I don't understand how they claim the recall has been completed. Based on the original recall paperwork if a bolt broke the axle shafts were to be replaced as an interim repair until the official recall fix was determined. I have not seen anything that indicates a fix for the recall has been determined. I had an axle replaced a year ago as an interim repair. The driver’s side I fear has broken now but I have yet pulled the cap to check. They also only replaced the passenger side axle, although the recall paperwork says to replace both bolts.

Mine showed $1272.75 for parts when both axles were replaced.

That definitely not indicative of the actual acquisition cost online from the Ford discounters though.

Did some crawling around and removed my sway bar to eliminate (possibly) popping noise still coming from rear end. I do think it’s the sway bar and I prob need to maintenance it..however, I noticed this after having the “recall” completed week before last. I would love ideas on what and why something appears to be leaking?

They may have added some gear oil via the axle tube opening during the replacement procedure. And even if they didn't, removing the existing axle will very likely bring with it a dose of the differential lubricant. Which could drip and spread out like that easy enough.

I think I remember the procedure listing a small quantity of lubricant in the parts list?

Correct (4 ounces), and the WSM procedure referenced in the recall instructions calls for topping-up the lubricant.

Good catch (y)

Unfortunately, with no word from Ford, and Ford dangling employee pricing on new vehicles, I walked on the Roush and picked up a Tremor instead. But, if Ford ever decides to bring this recall to a close, and you're in the market for a NOS 2023 Roush, look up Sands Ford in Pennsylvania. I'm sure they'll prefer to move it as soon as they can.

Well TIL that the recent surge in these Roush F150s I see running around is due to pretty deep price cuts.

I also thought they all came supercharged if they came with the 5.0, guess not.

I talked to the service department at my dealer and they have the parts and will be doing the recall on the truck. I asked twice it if was the new part like the doorman that has the nut and outside thread. Letters are going out week of May 12 to owners that a solution has been completed and the parts are available on limited supply.
