Hi F-150 owners! If you recently updated your FordPass® app, you may have noticed it looks a little different. We are pleased to share that we have rolled out a newly designed app.

It is easy to use and efficient, reducing the number of steps it takes to access functions to help you better manage your vehicle remotely. Also, instead of having to hold down a button to turn the vehicle ‘on’, this is now a simplified slider.

Additionally, if you have an Apple Watch, along with lock/unlock and remote start/stop, you will also be able to use the following features from your wrist:
  • Activate horn and lights remotely
  • View vehicle location
  • View fuel level and range, for gasoline-powered vehicles
  • View fuel level, battery and range, as well as total combined, for hybrid vehicles
We are also continuing to improve in-app experience with this latest version. If you notice a feature you previously used before is no longer there, don’t worry, the feature can still be accessed via your in-vehicle touchscreen.

We love to hear from our owners so let us know what you think and if you have any questions about FordPass!

EDIT (5/28/24):
Many of you had additional questions, so we wanted to provide some supplemental information about the newly designed FordPass app. Some of your exact features may vary depending on your vehicle model.
  • All about service: To reach the service dashboard, click the tool icon on the bottom right of your screen. You will find a vehicle health status list that includes the odometer reading, oil life for gas-powered vehicles, and tire pressure. If you’d like to add your vehicle service history, this can be done via Ford.com.
  • Trip Planning: While there’s no trip planning feature in FordPass right now, you can still use your in-vehicle touchscreen to access this feature. We’re exploring a simpler, more reliable version of this feature for FordPass.
  • Google Maps: To turn your Google Maps consent on or off, go to your Account settings, then Legal & Privacy, then Privacy.
  • Beep Beep: To reach the horn and lights feature, go to the location section right on the front screen.
  • Lock from anywhere: To tell if the vehicle is locked or unlocked, just click on your desired lock/ unlock state. The vehicle will then confirm “locked” or “unlocked” with a green check.
  • Tailgate party: Depending on your vehicle’s capability, Phone As A Key™ Bluetooth controls for the windows, trunk/frunk, and tailgate are found in the "Bluetooth Controls" menu right alongside all your other primary controls.
  • Add a friend: If your Ford vehicle is already connected in FordPass, you can find and manage any new vehicle user access requests by selecting your vehicle in the app, then selecting Vehicle Details. From there, you can approve or deny any new user access requests.
Please note: FordPass® App, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available via a download. Message and data rates may apply.

You conveniently forgot to mention all of the great features that you REMOVED!

Just dropping in to let Ford know how stupid they are for dropping the zone lighting feature. It's class-action suit worthy IMO, it was advertised as a feature of the truck I bought. Here's the presser.

https://www.ford.com/cmslibs/conten...akit/2021_Ford_F_150_Reveal_Release_FINAL.pdf

" Customers can keep going into the night with exclusive available Zone Lighting. This allows occupants to turn on and off individual sections of exterior lights through the SYNC® 4 screen or remotely with the FordPass app on their phone, so they never have to work, camp or do anything in the dark "

They think because something is a piece of software that they can just do whatever the hell they want without consequences. They effectively reduced the usefulness of the feature by 75%.

someone in another thread said the zone lighting no longer functions as of a couple of weeks ago

edit: tried it and it "works" except that you get a "something went wrong" error 4 out of 5 times you try to activate a zone, and then the app constantly tries to force you to update, and then locks up when you reject it.

Not an acceptable alternative.

I’ve had three updates so far to the FP. Up to IOs version v5.16.0 and have not seen a single change in the app up to this point since the last time something changed. Might be somewhat useful to know your washer fluid is good ( I’m not sure what happens when it goes bad ) and the tire pressure normal, but tire pressure has been there in the past .

You my not have noticed this but 5.16.0 now allows you to change your OTA settings in app. You can turn updates on/off and set days of week and time of day, without being in the truck.

I’m on 5.16.0 on iOS and don’t have that feature. That would be a nice feature to have when planning an OTA install after charging up the battery.

IMHO that's a worthless feature. Give people back propower and zone lighting.
I'm starting to worry someone from ford is going to take my spair tire in the middle of the night.

Does anyone remember ever signing a ULA when you took possession of your truck stating you agreed to let ford do what ever they like with software features?
The propower monitoring is the primary reason I purchased the 7kw generator. It's imperative that I know what loads I'm putting on the circuit.

Thankfully I can still monitor that but it's a pain...

Agreed, it's a nice add to Ford pass. I'm on 5.16.0 beta for android it wasn't there immediately after 5.16 installed, it appeared a few days later. it may have to do with Fords cloud settings or software versions on the truck. I'm not sure. 🤔

All mine does is tells me how to make changes in the truck and how to turn auto updates on and off. Doesn't show me the options like @Big Dog Daddy

Exactly. Somehow these companies got it in their head that because it's in an app, that they can just do whatever the hell they want without consequences. It's absolutely infuriating.

I mean it would be one thing if they decided it cost too much in data or something, and to not include it in future models, but to advertise it, making me think I'm getting something specific when I spent my money, and then remove it as part of their shitty "update" that didn't improve a single goddamned thing in that app, just makes me want to punch a hole in my desk.

You can, until you can't. Android won't let you use old app if there is an update to it. It may for a while, but at some point it will close the app unless you update it.

They can, and they do. Not sticking up for them but that’s the facts. Just like the max tow axle fiasco.

Maybe if you pay an extra 25% LOL
Seriously, neither my iPhone or Android 5.16.0 show what BDD has.

Not on my app either. But again, why would I need that feature, last time my truck had an OTA was September 2023. 🤷‍♂️
