New truck with HOLE IN ROOF on dealer lot

Just thought I'd share this for fun. I occasionally drive through my local dealers to check out new trucks on their lots, and one of the dealers around here recently got in a new Lariat Chrome Smoked Quartz truck. It's a beautiful truck, so I pulled in to check it out for Ss and Gs. I could not believe the glaring defect on this truck, which I spotted from at least 20 feet away. HOW could Ford and/or the dealer sell a brand new vehicle this way? Onus especially on the dealer, since the truck has been on the lot for at least two weeks. I'm wondering if they even noticed?

There is a lot that happens to a vehicle once it leaves the factory. Could be a transport issue.

Pity too as that Smoked Quartz is a beautiful color.

Can‘t see the front to tell model year but looking at rear tire tread, pretty worn down tread so it’s a used vehicle. Suspected to have at least 40K miles on it seems.

I'd guess a '22. Going by the fender vent and the tires aren't white letter plus it has the window sticker in it still. Those pirelli don't have an aggressive tread on them to begin with.

Not a flaw, clearly damaged caused by something, most likely while on the lot. I presume likely because the detail guys would have easily noticed that during prep (if washing by hand all too easy to see and if by wash tunnel the water spraying in soaking them would be clearly obvious).

I don’t know, as mentioned it doesn’t really look like a bullet hole but could a falling bullet tumbling cause a rougher/unclean hole like that?

The dealer has their new F150s parked near the USED CAR flag for some reason.

I like this new approach that Ford is utilizing... pre-damaged so your heart doesn't sink when the first scratch or door ding happens... very new age thinking on Fords part!
