I have a 2015 F150 Screw XLT 302A with 3.5 EB, 6-speed transmission and 3.31 rear. I'm currently shopping for a new truck and want to avoid a current issue I have.

On certain road setups I can end up doing 30-35 MPH in 5th gear at about 1000 RPMS. My truck doesn't really have a problem with that. Since I live in PA on occasion I will carry that speed, but have it drop some into an uphill turn that will drop my RPMs to 900 or so but the truck will stay in 5th gear and lug along, almost growling, until I get the RPMs back up.

If I go with the same 3.5 EB in my new truck and the 10 speed transmission and the same gears (3.31) will that issue go away because of the different transmission? Or would the 3.5 Power Boost with the 10 speed and 3.73 gears be a better solution?

Thanks in advance with any help!

The 10 speed alleviates almost all of your lugging concerns since you have a lot more gears to work with. I ordered the PB, but if you don't want to fork out for the hybrid, I would recommend going with the 3.55 axle on the regular 3.5, seems like a good happy medium for performance and fuel economy/cruising ?‍♂

Thanks. I was originally going to go with the V8, but it's hard to tell if the 2018 issues have been resolved.
