I'm going to give Ford the benefit of the doubt. I know I know I know..... Why would I?

Anyways, I recently heard it mentioned by an expert in the automotive software industry that there's likely to be more than 1 MILLION lines of code onboard the truck.
While I believe these 3.5.3 VS 3.5.3.2 VS 3.5.4 are more alike than they differ, of course, there are differences and REASONS that Ford is sending one VS the other to specific trucks.

Each may very well result in the same Sync version, but that in itself doesn't reveal what might vary in those many thousands of lines of code that a multi gigabyte package would contain.

I also wouldn't be surprised that the sudden halt to 3.5.3 a couple of months ago was because Ford saw something that we don't know about.
The 2 month silence in the OTA mechanism was Ford addressing what they know that we don't, and now they have finished "plan-b", which is different packages for different trucks that wouldn't make sense to us, but does to them.

All I'm saying is that even when it makes no sense to us, behind the curtain there IS an explanation. Good or not. :)

I'm just about to l launch on putting the 4th battery in my J1 2021 1, oem 2, dealer warranty, 3. ditched the H6 for a motorcraft H7 , 4th coming next week not motorcraft!

Anyway, I constantly monitor the SOC% pid with my odbmx+ when I got to work this morning the truck was at 70% it sat parked all day till 5:00 when I hooped in to go home, I looked over and saw an update had been installed, hit the button and sure enough 3.5.3 was just installed. I really don't understand this, everything I've read for the last year has said 80% . This now has me wondering if in one of the more recent software updates Ford has backed down on the 80% requirement.

Are you using Torque to show this? I can't seem to find the correct PID to show this info.

How do you check which OTA you have installed?
I went to check for updates and it just spits out a message saying your up to day, but does not show a version number.
The only thing I could find that listed a version number was SYNC 4, Software Version: 22230_PRODUCT Revision 546

I dont see these version numbers referenced on the OTA Wiki site.

No Full Screen, I thought that all would be updated prior to leaving Dearborn or when they actually received at dealer? Oh well, I can wait. Not looking for issues that is for sure.

Did you click on the opposing arrows in the top left of the carplay screen? right above the orange microphone icon.

once you do that it should stay full screen

I'm using ODBMX+ with the Ford enhanced software, Free for download with the ODBMX+ software app. under the Ford enhanced PID's, go to Body control module BCM then select
"Vehicle Battery-State of Charge" (%) and that's it.

Good morning, I was wondering if I can get an update check 1FTFW1E53NFA24770. I suspect something is going on in the background, but no way of telling, thank you.
No OTAs in the past 60 days and nothing in queue right now.

The only way is if your touch screen tells you, or if you provide your VIN, I can check in PTS. It your last OTA was 60 days or less, I can see which the last one you got. The power up wiki does not specify which update gives you what sync version. Some OTA's update your Sync revision, but most do not. You cannot assume what power up OTA was the last one you got based on what Sync version you have.

Would you mind checking mine for me again? It was checked back in October and at that time said 3.5.3 was pending (along with some other module updates). I'm curious if it attempted and failed on mine.

Thank you for checking for me and everyone else here. Just got my truck last week and curious if they had to update the software before they turned it over to me.

You having a 2023, I would assume it has all the updates from factory. I did come across a 2023 owner that didn't have full screen carplay/AA, so maybe even those aren't built with it yet. In your case, no OTA history and nothing in queue. Your Sync version is 22230 and if they are in correct sequential order, the latest version is 22294, so you maybe have some OTAs coming.

Agreed, I think it was a smart move by Ford. There are plenty of issues and complaints about both software issues AND the speed at which Ford is moving right now. I hate that both are happening, but if moving slow prevents more issues, I'm satisfied with that outcome.

In the Marines we always used to say: slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Go slow enough to get it right so you don't have to go back and redo it, which takes even longer
