I'm going to give Ford the benefit of the doubt. I know I know I know..... Why would I?
Anyways, I recently heard it mentioned by an expert in the automotive software industry that there's likely to be more than 1 MILLION lines of code onboard the truck.
While I believe these 3.5.3 VS 3.5.3.2 VS 3.5.4 are more alike than they differ, of course, there are differences and REASONS that Ford is sending one VS the other to specific trucks.
Each may very well result in the same Sync version, but that in itself doesn't reveal what might vary in those many thousands of lines of code that a multi gigabyte package would contain.
I also wouldn't be surprised that the sudden halt to 3.5.3 a couple of months ago was because Ford saw something that we don't know about.
The 2 month silence in the OTA mechanism was Ford addressing what they know that we don't, and now they have finished "plan-b", which is different packages for different trucks that wouldn't make sense to us, but does to them.
All I'm saying is that even when it makes no sense to us, behind the curtain there IS an explanation. Good or not.
