When you go to the Sync software update scheduler, can you set a schedule?
And when you go to settings to the "Sync About" item, what version of Sync does it say the truck is running?

Amazing.
They'll (Ford and dealership) will go through the trouble and expense to replace modules, but not just do the updates directly? I mean the truck is right there in the bay.

I don't get it. And obviously replacing modules didn't accomplish bringing your truck any more up to date, nor accomplish fixing the OTA purgatory.

After a couple of years and the accumulated knowledge, that now there's no excuse for not having, it's just crazy to hear such things.
Sounds like they're more willing to try and fix the problem through engineering and OTA means than having customers get angry over leaving their trucks at the dealership for days or weeks because technicians can't follow directions

They said they updated the system to the latest version they could. Which I think they actually did. I literally watched my truck sit on the lift with a laptop in the driver's seat trying to get updates for a week. They then decided to replace the modules after failing to update the system. I provided my vin a couple weeks ago ok here and some fine person here helped look it up and let me know it was a fairly recent version of sync and they could see the work they did but no sync updates on the horizon.
I'm the one that checked your truck before. I have the VIN. OTA Fluffline lied to you. You were not sent an update yesterday. I'll look at it again tomorrow when I have full access to refresh my memory on what the dealer did, but I found my previous post and based on what I said, your truck is not stuck. They just haven't sent you anything yet and they can't manually push an update to you.

Finally saw the download start for 3.5.3.2 this morning on the way to work. 2 days ago I turned off automatic updates and set a schedule for weekdays at 7am. Also left all WiFi network. Did that make a difference? Who the hell knows, but I’m glad it’s finally going.

I received 3.5.3.2 this morning. I didn't have time this morning to play around with it, but I will when I get off work today. Looks like the flood gates are opening. I did not change anything in my truck settings, Wifi on or off etc.
And boy the "Notice" really doesn't tell you much, does it? Nothing about the new updated screens and the new display engine, nothing. Only item it mentioned was the larger screen for AA.

Unreal is enabled with 3.5.3.2? Or just cosmetic changes? It didn't stand out to me as being sharper.

No there is not much info in Ford’s notifications for their OTA updates. No mention of the full screen CarPlay that was added with my 3.5.3, which I thought was one of the more popular features. Only trumpeting Alexa….

I thought it was based on a previous thread. I could be wrong. I'm sure one of the experts will chime in soon.

Over the past year I have seen my truck go into the dreaded "deep sleep" mode here and there. I have also experienced delayed software updates. I have a BM2 battery monitor on my boat and decided to buy a second to keep tabs on my truck battery. The BM2 hooks directly to the battery and records voltage locally for ~10 days. When connected via bluetooth, the data is synced with your phone via the BM2 app. Very useful tool and less than $30. Check out amazon or other online shops if interested.

I hooked it up a couple days ago and already seeing some odd behavior. In the image below, the first red arrow on the left was at ~ 1am where the voltage dropped from 12.6V to 12.4V for no apparent reason. I recall reading that these trucks require 80% SOC for updates to download/install and 80% on a 12V AGM battery is 12.5V. I am wondering if an update was triggered but ended up dropping the voltage too low resulting in an error and aborted download/install. A similar drop happened later in the day around 8:15pm (right red arrow).

The two white arrows show a different pattern with identical behavior with an initial drop to 12.17V followed by a slight recovery, then a second dip and back to steady-state around 12.6V. I am thinking this occurs when I walk up to the truck with keys and the truck wakes up (clicks and lights turn on). Such a drop from 12.6V to 12.1V seems excessive for the truck just waking up though. Perhaps this is a sign of a faulty battery, but oddly enough, there is no hesitation when starting the engine.

The spikes up to ~15V are while I am driving and battery is being charged by the alternator.

I'll continue to monitor but may end up just trying a new battery as some have recommended.

Have you confirmed your truck has been sent 3.5.3 and you're also waiting on it to install?

I've been watching my battery closely for the past week and half as I was sent 3.5.3 on 1/24 but it's stuck at the "artifact_retrieval_in_progress" download phase as shown in the hidden OTA status on the Ford owner dashboard (yes I've tried every single trick and truck has had solid 4-5 bar AT&T cell service).

Your battery behavior sounds identical to mine. Spikes of ~15v while charging, getting measurements of 12.3-12.5v "resting" after being driven for a while. I've seen several SOC battery charts for AGM batteries and they've ranged from 14.8v when full (100% SOC) to 12.6v full (100% SOC), so I'm not sure what is considered full in our FoMoCo batteries. Those in the BMS battery thread suggesting our trucks do only charge to 12.5v, so I've determined my battery to be good and I've had it tested twice by two testers as good. I've been using an OBDLink EX cable and the OBDLink app to monitor my SOC, which ranges from 75% to 83%. Based on the active BMS battery thread, the truck regularly bounces between 75% to 85% SOC, so are we sure it's a minimum of 80% SOC for an OTA to install? Where does Ford say this requirement?

@ruge 1FTFW1E81MFA06955. I appreciate you looking. I know my dealership replaced and updated things. But my not updating ota is TBD and is the wait and see portion I just don't like.
Yes, they replaced your TCU and properly programmed and updated it. You sync version is v4.0.21233 which is past the hump where trucks get stuck. You are most likely pending some of the older OTA's which don't get sent out by Ford very often. This is why your dealer told you "wait and see". They don't have the ability to push OTA's to your truck. Nobody does.

Can anyone with FDRS pull a list of pending module updates for him?

I finally got this update yesterday. I think my truck was downloading or trying to install for a couple of weeks beforehand, as I had a few low battery symptoms popping up that have now been rectified. The only changes I see are full screen android auto and the climate temps are now 'boxed out' differently on the top status bar (which I like)...am I missing anything else? Just bug fixes?

What were the symptoms and what did you do to correct?
