Much variability adding 6’ box/WB with payload change for SCrew
4x4
3.5 EB +55 +100 GVWR
3.5 PB -20 same GVWR
4x2
3.5 EB +195 +250 GVWR
3.5 PB +30 same GVWR

So more complex (and maybe random?) than the weight of adding 1’ of truck.
Better to compare apples to apples with same cab/engine/WB
Have to refer to the Ford specs

I hope my info is correct, working from my phone 😉

Per ford's sheet, 'long' PB is +23lbs

Ford F-150 New Order POwerboost expected payload 1663979693144

Interesting to see how 80lbs heavier on front axle while being 56lbs lighter on the rear axle w/ long bed.

Short bed has a 59% F and 41% rear weight distribution -- not too shabby.

Just don't see how my XLT has 351 pounds worth of options. Wheel options shouldn't be considered "weight" -- they're not carried by the axles, only the tires, and the tires are 2675lb rating each....

Seems to be something other than strict physics/engineering

Quick question. Does the fold down shifter on XLT come with fold flat work surface or with Sport Appearance package. I prefer this option for how I use my truck (working remotely), but don’t want to pay for something unnecessarily.

Looks like the Sport Appearance package is the console shifter, after a few Google searches. Of course, the dealer I went to today could not answer that simple question.

I was specifically referring to the Powerboost, but I didn't know there was such a disparity across drivetrains.

The fold out work surface is an option, but I also believe it's baked into several of the packages. Option on lower trims, standard on upper. Ford's config tool is a mess. It certainly doesn't disclose in the detail someone doing a custom order would need to truly build exactly as wanted.

True, which is why I asked the dealer, since he had one in the lot. In typical fashion, they had no idea what option contained the console shifter. It certainly is not listed in the Sport Appearance package any where.

Can't imagine 2023 being different, but for 2021, when you order the Sport package, you get the console shifter with exterior black accents with chrome removed. The interior work surface was a separate option. I really don't like the console shifter. It is gimmicky and not necessary. I wish they'd replace the trailer backup knob and put the shifter there on the dash.

I went with nolathane as it's red (and shipped it was still $100+ cheaper than hellwig). FX4 sticker and tail lights are also red. (they're drop shipped like most large items)
https://truckandgear.com/nolathane/nlh-ecde-rev0110220.html

Hellwig is another brand, more expensive, same 'performance' (both in size and 3 position firmness selection).
Steeda makes an even thicker one for the rear, it's way overkill though.
Thanks for the link to the nolathane, but for me it states that it doesn't fit a 2021-2022?

All suspension components from 15-23 fit...

That's also the lowest price shipped for me at least.

Thanks. Just makes me pause when websites state "does not fit". Add to that all the products that state "does not fit Powerboost".

It's a dilemma buying on the cutting edge.

The heavy payload package also adds a third leaf at the rear axle. There is a work around from SuperSprings that should work much the same.

Payload is often the limitations of the rear tires. My 2022 came with tires that have a load capacity of 2679@35 PSI. Doing a rough estimate that the truck itself weighs 3000 lbs at the rear that leaves a max payload of 2,358. The sticker payload number is only 1770 lbs and allows for the passenger load in the cab that contributes to the load on rear axle.

More important is the weight your trailer puts on the hitch. With my max tow package and a WD hitch the truck is rated for a tongue weight of 820 lbs. This is where a CAT scale is invaluable to cheaply determine the weight on the rear axle and the tongue weight and the true trailer weight when loaded.

My 2022 with the tow package has a trailer towing capacity of 13,800 lbs although I would not dream of towing a 13,000 lb trailer with a 1500 class pickup.

Does anyone know how much weight the 7.2 kw generator adds? I am at 1428 on SCREW, 6.5’, XLT, 302A based on an actual payload sticker from a very similar truck to the one I am building. The file Cobraman provided does not have weight for the 7.2kw generator. I am also going to lose 100lbs due to the equalizer WDH. I am losing payload fast.

Not sure exactly, but it's just a larger inverter. At least that would be the only weight difference that would be meaningful. But what's a Powerboost as an RV towing platform without that inverter? :)
