I went through this same dance about a year ago. I ended deciding to give up the 4WD and keep the Powerboost. I rarely use the 4WD capability of my current vehicle, but I would love the capability of adding a generator.

For what it's worth, I have seen payload stickers for powerboosts in the 1900lb range. They had few options, and were 4x2s, if I remember correctly.

This is about where the Powerboost Payload starts:

FYI. Without the Powerboost you can only get the 2.0 generator. The 2.4 is standard with the Powerboost and the 7.2 generator is or was $750. The 2.0 was $995 option on my 21 Ecoboost.

4WD is a requirement for me. Lots of trips to mountain house for skiing in the winter. I went to some dealers today. Going to try the VIN link provided in earlier response to get payload and see how that works....

Did you use the spreadsheet here to look at options and their weights?

The big hits are:

Tailgate features (step and motor)
Sprayin bedliner
Panoramic roof
4WD
36 gallon tank (12 gallons of it are deducted from Payload. The first 24 gallons are included in the curb weight before Payload deductions)

The surprising good feature that is listed as only 21 lbs is the additional 1' of truck with the 6.5' bed! :)

JerryLZ, at the beginning of the thread, provided a link that would give payload for a specific VIN. If there is a truck close to the options you want, this will provide the data I need.
I do not have individual feature weights. That would be very helpful.

Am I assuming correctly, that is I want a spray bed liner, it does not matter if Inget it from Ford or after market because it still adds weight to vehicle, thus subtracting payload. I am close to just scrapping the PB idea and buy F250, since there are still some around at similar prices to F150. I really wanted the smoother ride, but the payload fiasco seems to be just too tight.

FWIW to you, here is the payload on my truck from the factory, with nearly all options except the 7.2 output, absent spray in liner, tonneau cover, heavy weathertech floor mats. You are on the right track to look at the 250 if you want the payload you are looking for.

If I had close to 2K, this would not be an issue, but without HDPP available on XLT, I can’t get there.

I have to make up my mind, my wife is pushing me to do something (if you can believe that), either order a 23 F-150 or buy a left over 2022 F-250. I do not want to buy the first year of a redesign, so 23 F250 is out.

Planning to order new SCREW, 4x4, 7.2kw, XLT, 6.5’ bed, but I will be towing a yet to be purchased travel trailer. The payload discussion has me very concerned and I cannot find any summary of option package weights or what to expect, besides something around 1500 pounds or less. Very angry at Ford for removing HDPP from XLT. Makes no damn sense, since many who buy POwerboost with 7.2kw will likely tow. Target wet trailer weight is around 8K.

options I would like:
302A
Bed Utility package (getting old and need easy access to bed)
Max Tow
360 camera

anyone have a similarly optioned truck that can provide Payload, if something is missing or extra on your truck please let me know.

I do not want the XL. My wife wants the heated seats, exterior key pad and other features that are not available on XL.
Thanks.
I have a '21 close to the configuration you listed. If you plan to tow 8k lbs, you'll be overweight

I have since added RAS, but haven't rerun it across the scales. We did tow a packed 6x12 dual axle uhaul enclosed trailer recently and didn't really even notice it back there other than a little slower off the line and the hit on mpg.

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ras-w-scales-smart-hitch.7587/page-2#post-238862

But we only tow a few times a year in the Southeast currently. If we ever considered a bigger trailer, we'd prob upgrade to a F350 Tremor. 😤

Can I suggest dropping max tow? Idk how much it hurts payload, but I don’t see a lot of reason for it on the PB. First, the PB has almost all the max tow parts standard. Second, as you’re seeing, PB’s are almost always payload limited in towing. Max tow only raises you from 11,000 to 12,900 tow rating. But to pull 12,900 you’d be at ~1300 lbs tongue weight.

It's only like 24 lbs per previous threads.
