We never got the rattler option in Canada and I wanted one so bad so I was forced to make it myself.

My master plan was to get an XL and all I’d have to do is get black wheels and I’d be set but when i went to order it they’ve already stopped taking orders for the 2023’s.

It’s almost impossible to find a Supercrew XL around here so I had to settle for an XLT. I wrapped the bumpers and that skinny piece between the bumper and grille in 3M 2080 matte metallic black.

The grille had me stumped for a while that’s why I haven’t completed the mission until now. I picked up this truck brand new last Halloween and it has bugged me everyday driving it around incomplete.

I’m not a professional wrapper so I had no clue how I was gonna wrap that thing. I got desperate a few weeks ago and just bought a bunch of plastidip but never got the time to do it.

Then last week right before our trip to visit family in Schenectady the lord blessed me with this magnificent grille on Americantrucks.com for an absolute steal. I think it was around $350-400 but I got an open box item for around $80 because it was missing the lights(that I didn’t even want).

I know it looks like a municipal work truck but I personally love the look. It also helps that it looks like a plain work truck because I live in the highest theft area in the country and I don’t think this look attracts those dickheads as much.

I’m gonna leave the wheels as they are and just get some black takeoffs when these tires die.

Those wheels on the white truck look nice! It also helps break up the black a little with that nice grille. Well done!

I like it. Kinda storm trooper look. I can't wait to see when the black wheels are on 😍

Very nice! Besides wheels, any other mods you are looking at performing?

I’m pretty sure the actual rattler wheels are the same ones just black but wife said to leave them alone unless you’re gonna pay to get them done properly. Nothing worse than peeling wheels.

What a great look! The new grill here has three rectangular holes near the top. Are those potential cut-outs that can fit orange style Tremor accent lights?

This might be the first one I keep when the lease is up as long as nothing bad mechanically happens to it over the next couple of years.

If I do end up keeping it I’ll start putting a little money into it with the mods but for now I don’t have any plans to do anything outside of scheduled maintenance.

I actually scored a nice bug deflector too when I got the grille but I was told not to install it since I go through an automatic car wash almost every day and it will just get ripped off eventually and probably cause some damage

Yeah, those holes are meant for lights but I didn’t want them and it also meant that I got a massive discount for the grill since it didn’t include the lights.

Step dad called it the storm trooper. When the time comes for new wheels I’m really hoping to score a set of those 18” wheels that come factory on the XLT Sport model. One of my all-time favourite designs

You’re right, they’re the same wheels just not black. You could easily get those powder coated, I did it to my xlt wheels. Still holding up very well, but they don’t see winter. Not sure it would make a difference though, this stuff is tough and they gave me a lifetime warranty (excluding curb damage).

If you get the wheels professionally painted, they will hold up to winter use.

I had my 24" wheels painted professionally and if they made a 24" winter tire, you'd absolutely see me driving around Toronto with them.

How much did the set cost to do and how long did they keep them for? Thanks for sharing that link

Got them done in March 2023, $499 + hst. That included unmounting my old tires, powder coating the wheels, remounting the new tires with tpms sensors and balancing.

They had them for about 5 days, I was on my winters so it wasn’t a big deal.
