Local lot here is is pretty full about 9 new f150s lined up in front. This isn't the dealer I ordered from - they wanted 20k up front. Probably their lot trucks are priced MSRP+.

It was a pretty easy decision lol. Jay Malone motors. Not recommended.

Sometimes what you see at the lot isn't the whole story. My Ford dealer has 63 F-150s (mix of on hand and in transit, with it being about 40 that are on hand). But you wouldn't know it at the dealer itself where they have maybe 10-12. They keep a bulk of their vehicles at a storage lot off-site, about five miles away. They keep the most common requested builds and models on site and the rest go to the other lot. Their deliveries go there too, which is how I learned about it since I couldn't find my truck at the lot the weekend it was delivered and asked why.

Anyway, that isn't guaranteed to be every dealer, the one I go to is the second highest volume Ford dealer in the country, so they get and move a lot of inventory. But it just shows that what you see isn't always the whole story. Our dealer likes to keep their lot clean and have parking room for service and commercial vehicles they are prepping.

My dealerships lot has quite a few. The lot is huge, from when they were the #1 ford dealer for many years, so even with this many, they still look a bit empty. They are building a special showroom just for the Bronco brand, which gives them a pretty high number of Bronco allocations. Below is the breakdown of the F150s on their lot:

I’m curious how many of those would say “in transit” if you clicked on them.

Haven't been by any of the Ford dealers in a while but the Toyota dealer nearest me looks full I'm guessing mostly used vehicles. The RAM store maybe half full. Honda maybe 1/4 full. Whereas about 3 weeks ago they showed in the newspaper the largest volume Toyota dealer on the other side of town was crickets, they even said they haven't had more than 6 new Toyotas at a time on their lot since beginning of summer.

Most of the dealers near me didn't look to bad with stock. So we pulled into one and found out 80% plus were lease returns that had hang tags on the rear view mirror that said not for sale. If it wasn't for these vehicles it would look like the dealer had closed, maybe only 10 new F150s where they usually have close to 200 on hand.

My dealer usually has about 20 trucks on the lot. They have only had 4 in the last 4 months. Nothing now. 1 dealer stock coming sometime before the end of the year. 11 special orders of 21’s on the way with 4 more that got turned to 22’s. Very scarce in our area that’s for sure!

Ford's inventory should build during the 4th quarter. They took more of a hit early on this summer. They seem to be on the backside of the curve on availability. At least in the short term.

My local dealer had 3 new F150s on the lot Friday. One lariat, the others are XL/XLT.
