So my bitchy snarkiness maybe coming to an end. My truck has been shipped. Below is a very brief history including the latest curveball:
5/21 - Ordered a KR
7/21 - Switched to a Platinum
10/21 - Reordered as a 22MY; Last time dealer and I signed an order sheet.
5/22 - Ford removes key features, order sheet goes up in price
9/22 - Built; Dealer will honor the X-Plan pricing but not the price protection
11/22 - Shipped
I expect it to arrive week of 11/20/22. I asked for a final price with all the fees and x-plans etc. They got back to me with post-inflation pricing, again as well as 1.9% for 60 mo and 2.9% for 72 mo. I bitched that I had a signed order sheet, and they threw up their hands and shrugging their shoulders.
Then they countered with something I wasn't expecting: 0% for 72 months. Doing the math on a $72,000 loan (rounded for mathematical clarity), I determined:
0% costing $72,000 (duh)
1.9% costing $76,238.88
2.9% costing $78,532.31
3.14% (local credit union) $79,089.12
4.49% (my current bank) $82,267.14
So going the route of 0% for 72 months would offset the approximate $4200 increase in price. So, net it would be a wash. My only question is, I don't know what the financing incentives were in 10/21 (what Ford had down as the order date) when I reordered the new model year. If that offer was naturally what I'm supposed to get, then I'm going to pursue the quote on the signed order sheet. Any way to get that info?
