What do coilovers do that regular shocks like Bilstein 5100's don't do?

Other than being height adjustable while on the truck, they are also easier to install as there’s no need to swap anything over…you just removed the stock strut/coil assembly and bolt the new one in.

Looking great.
Any rubbing at full lock with your +2" setup?
Im planning to do a 6112 Bilsteins at full +2.5" lift with 315/70/17 , would hate that to rub.

Nope, no rub at all. I have removed the air dams though.

You removed the blocks in the rear. How did you compensate for loss of lift? Did you ad a spring?

Compensate for loss of lift? The point of removing the block was to get rid of the excessive wheel gap in the rear and to level the truck without going so high in the front that I sacrificed performance and longevity of suspension parts.

What up gang…thought I’d share my new truck. Long story short: had an Oxford white on order with Ford, but got frustrated after 5 months of waiting and no end in sight. Flew to Colorado from SoCal last weekend to pick this beauty up and drove it home. Has everything I had on my order except for the work surface, that I probably never would have used anyways. In the 4 days I’ve had her, here’s what I’ve done:

Icon Rebound 17” wheels
Falken Wildpeak AT3 285/75/17
Eibach ProTruck coilovers set at 2”
Rear blocks removed
Truxedo Sentry CT tonneau
Bulletliner bedliner
Ronin shorty antenna
Ikonic fender badges
Front and rear emblem overlays
Ceramic 35% tint on front windows
Vinyl tint on clear section of tails and third brake light
Removed active air dam and trimmed valence
Removed FX4 stickers
Yellow Lamin-X vinyl on fogs.
Waiting on AVS in-channel visors to come in.
Have an RCI bedrack that I’ll be putting on as well.

May put on a RTR skid plate and debating on raised matte black letters on the tailgate, or go with the Air Designs appliqué.

Thanks for looking!

Bushwacker OE flares are also on the list.

Looks incredible! What are your ground to fender measurements? I have a 2 inch level and I'm 40.5 in the front and 42 in the rear. Removing the block would leave me dead level and I'm wondering if that's where you're at?

Not sure…have never measured. I did however put the blocks back in after adding all my bed rack gear.

Thanks for the prompt response. Did it end up squatting easily? Also a concern of mine.

Not really no…it was really just a hair over level once I was fully loaded so I just popped them back in to even it back out.

Were you able to get the full 2” of level height in the front with the eibachs? I have been looking for a suspension level kit for my 22 platinum powerboost but everything from kings, fox, to even ford’s new bilstein colab level kit says “not recommend for powerboost”because of the powerboost extra curb weight. They’re not tuned for and won’t get full lift. I’ve also read if you have the adaptive turning headlamps or bluecruise changing control arms is a no go because of the sensor down there….

I never measured to see what it ended up at, but I had my shop turn them down 1/2” from how they come from Eibach (which they say is 2.5”) and Ive been very happy with it. On and off road performance is fantastic. I don’t have blue cruise but have had zero problems with adaptive cruise or headlights.

Thanks! I went with Eibach for 3 reasons:

1. I’d read that the spring rates they use are not as heavy as Fox (which lots of people claim to be too stiff) but not as light as stock. Don’t quote me on the numbers, but something like 500 pounds vs, stock which is like 400 and Fox which are 600. They appear to be right in the sweet spot.

2. I’ve been using Eibach stuff since my early days in the import scene, which is close to 25 years now, and have always been impressed. They actually make the springs that Fox/Rousch uses on their coilovers, along with lots of other OE manufacturers.

3. They’re local to me and have been long-time supporters of motor sports in SoCal. They host a big open house party every year that’s a ton of fun.

So far Im in love with the ride. Definitely got rid of that floaty feel going over bumps on the freeway, and less body roll in turns, but still a smooth luxury-feeling ride. Looking forward to seeing how they perform off road.
Interesting. I find the fox setup too floaty.

Do you think you'd be rubbing with that tire size without a level? As fara s I can tell, it's just a bit wider (0.8") and 0.8" taller than stock which seems to be about 33s.
My wheels should be similar in size (0mm offset, 17x9) so I'm trying to debate if I want tod o 285/70r17s or 285/75r17s.
