1050? Ja-hesusMy payload on my 2023 PB is only 1050. Picking up my new travel trailer tomorrow. I hope the tongue weight is under 700. The factory says 604. But I am sure it will be higher.
Is that the door sticker on your truck or a CAT scale weight. I can’t see a fully loaded PB that low straight from the factory as you have added after market accessories. My 21 KR PB came in at 1320 ,same 157 and only lacking a few options and added much of the same accessories afterwards. My payload on my 2023 PB is only 1050. My almost fully loaded Platinum payload is 1323#s. 1050 seems low and may be the lowest I've seen.Is that the door sticker on your truck or a CAT scale weight. I said: "He wouldn't spend money for Max Tow and then run 87 in it. Must be a typo."I'm not certain I understand what you are implying.
I've read mix things about towing in ECO compared to Tow/Haul. I may try to tow in ECO on return trip from the dealership. I know a lot about what happens in Tow/Haul mode, lock out gears, hold shift point, no Electric motor etc. I've only towed my TT a few times so I'm still trying to get avg MPH with my setup. Thanks for the feedback on ECO..I tow a dump trailer with my ‘21 PB for work occasion. I live in Tulsa where it’s pretty much flat. I just put my truck into Eco mode when I tow in flat areas and easily get 17-20mpg with a 50/50 mix of highway and city driving. The trailer weighs about 2500-4000 pounds typically when I’m towing and is about as aerodynamic as a brick.
Max tow is the upgraded axle -- If you want to convert the PB to HDPP, simply swap out the rear springs. PB's frame is 2nd only to the raptor in terms of strength.Ford really did the customers dirty by not allowing the heavy duty axel on lariat trims and above. Clearly they were worried about typical spec’d trucks cannibalizing f250 orders.
Maybe you've posted this elsewhere, but what are your thoughts on putting RAS on the PB with MT. Does it provide similar results as the HDPP springs in your opinion ?If you want to convert the PB to HDPP, simply swap out the rear springs.
Personally I'm not fond of how the RAS works only interacting with half of the spring stack. I prefer quality airbags myself as they can be adjusted in-cab, underway and when completely unloaded can dropped down to ~3 psi which all but removes them from the equation. Plus with some valves it can also be used to inflate tires or have a trailer channel.Maybe you've posted this elsewhere, but what are your thoughts on putting RAS on the PB with MT. Max tow package actually provides a lower payload vs trailer tow package, according to ford literature.Max tow is the upgraded axle -- If you want to convert the PB to HDPP, simply swap out the rear springs. PB's frame is 2nd only to the raptor in terms of strength.
If you don't have max tow, a complete rear axle w/ HDPP springs is all that's needed. That's it![]()
Of course it does, it has at least 22lbs of heavier rotors. We're not talking about stickers, we're talking about the limiting factors for running heavier payloads.Max tow package actually provides a lower payload vs trailer tow package, according to ford literature.
My point being that the actual HDPP package provides increased payload with documentation from ford that will hold up in court. The rest of the pieced together HDPP provides less payload (on paper), and that the true HDPP option isn’t available for lariat and above.Of course it does, it has at least 22lbs of heavier rotors. Oh, right. Can't forget all of the folks regularly going to court and having to drag their documentation with them. That's right up there with everyone picking up their million dollar lottery checks. Any guess which one occurs more? On that note I need to finish my lightning mitigation faraday cage around each one of my fruit trees.
