Well.........I drive like an old man, because I am one. I run about 65 on the expressway & for the most part take it easy around town. Another big factor is that I rarely take short trips in my truck. In my experience, it takes at least a few miles to get up to optimum operating temp & efficiency.

I averaged 20.6mpg with my 2015 157" 4x4 with the 3.5 Ecoboost over 235k miles, including very occasional towing. I regularly got 21.5mpg, right up to trading it, unless there was some extenuating circumstance, like hauling, towing, off road, etc.
Yeah i have some short trips that do really kill the mpg. When i do drive it to work 42 miles each way it gets around 23mpg.

My morning compute was 26.1 MPG. With that said, my driving style has changed and I am more eco friendly with the accelerator. I am running Midwest premium at 91.

My commute this morning on 92 ethanol free was 28.2 and I pulled into my office with the battery pretty full. Hoping to keep that average for the whole round trip, I'm up and down both ways with more downhill on the way home 🤞

I'm a little jealous of some of you folks. I have been running regular fuel in my PB and have been averaging 17.5 for 2800 miles or so. My best tank was 20 mpg. Im currently testing the premium fuel and I am continuing to go down in mpg's. At 17.4 now overall and 15.3 with a quarter of a tank used (~115 miles) of premium.

I can drive my truck like an ass and still not get down that low, do you have any non MPG friendly mods? Are you driving all freeway at 85+?

I'm getting mid 22mpg weekly using 87, Mostly highway driving at 60 mph. I'm going to try using higher octane for a couple tanks and see if there's a difference. Curious ?

I do have aftermarket shocks (1-2" of lift maybe), vehicle is not quite leveled yet, 17" wheels with 285 BFGs. My 20mpg run was with this setup. Im normally 3-5 mph over on highways. I have a handful of 100-300 mile trips and one 1,000 mile trip, the rest is in town. Lots of stop signs and lights. I don't stomp on the gas or slam on the brakes. I figured I would lose a couple mpg's with the shocks and tires, but not nearly as much as where I'm at now. My previous vehicle was lifted slight more and I only lost 2 mpg on it.

I did my weekly fill up yesterday. It took 17.398 gallons for 487 miles & that works out 27.99mpg. I got 87 octane regular 10% ethanol from the same pump as last week. The screen in the truck displayed 27.2mpg for the trip. I was shocked that it came in at an actual 28mpg. With that said, I babied it along all week. This is probably the best that I can get from this truck.

After the fill up, I made a 140 mile run on the expressway at about 65 the whole trip, with a slight tailwind for most of the trip. The truck currently displays 27.2mpg again. Now I am anxious to see what my mileage will be at the next fill up.

Heavy tires, probably each about 10 lbs heavier than stock, are hurting your MPG with lots of stop starts, Highway will be better

My most recent highway run was 120 miles at 15.3 mpg's. Tried premium fuel on that trip. Got another big trip coming in a couple weeks.
