Moon roof damage during transport

It looks like the transporter didn't provide enough clearance or lock rails in place. The constant rubbing from the drive from the factory probably caused those deep etching. Did you happen take a pic of the VIN? Put it out there on the forums of this damage for someone who might be searching?

^^ This. If you happened to grab the VIN (or can find the VIN in a dealer listing), do folks a favor and post it here so people can steer clear.

Well we did learn one thing. Before you buy a truck, take time to look at the roof.

Oh man, that stinks.. I bought a new 2007 Lariat years ago and the dealer went through 2 trucks with damage before I settled on a 3rd that had some slight clearcoat damage on the rear that was able to be cleaned up.. I recall one of them having a dent on the roof along the leading edge at the windshield. Crazy stuff..

If this was a retail order, the replacement will be rather quick vs the normal wait. Ford will place a priority 1 on the order and I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't built in the next 2 weeks and then shipped priority as well.

You right about that and I had it done for me back in 2002 I think it was. Took longer to transport it than the entire build process.

I HOPE AND PRAY I'm my truck doesn't fall victim to something like this. But in your experience are there any things/areas of the truck we should scrutinize to make sure there are no issues?
