Been looking at getting a set of wheels for my truck and landed on the Method 316. Trouble is, they don’t offer exactly what I want when it comes to colour/size/offset. My choices are currently between:

17x8 with +25 offset in matte black OR
17x8.5 with 0 offset in gloss titanium

I much prefer the titanium colour over black for two reasons, one being it would look good on my truck and second being that everybody and their dog has black wheels nowadays so it’s something different. However, I would rather stick with a positive offset rather than going with the extra tire poke that comes with the “0” offset. Ideally if I could just get the 17x8 +25 in titanium I wouldn’t even be considering going with black but sadly they don’t offer that size in titanium.

What’s everybody’s thoughts on this; do I go with the colour I want but more aggressive offset or go with the exact offset I want but settle with black?

Here’s the photos of the 2 wheels and of my truck. I will be retaining the 285/70 KO2s either way.

Your truck is looking awesome, we can't wait to see which wheels you pick!

Unfortunately this has become quite common with wheel brands lately where they do not offer multiple colors in the same offset patterns or just overall sizes. We ran into this problem actually with Method way back when we first started our shop build. We wanted triple black but they only came in 17s (at the time) so we had to settle with matte black which had the silver "bead lock" pattern.

So in this case, you really have to go with what you will enjoy more in terms of the looks. We really like the look of the higher offset on these trucks. We run +18 on our build and we find it still gives a nice aggressive look without being too much.

We do sell a ton of Method wheels though so if you need help with other questions or just need a set hit us up sometime! Here is an older photo of when we had Methods on our Tremor. This was a +18 for reference.

Just buy the wheels with the correct geometry you want and have them powder coated the exact color you want? Doesn't look like you need them now, p/c is usually 50-100 usd a wheel.

I like your current set up, but I'm not an unbiased opinion.

I have the 316’s in titanium on mine, 17x8.5, 0 offset. I don’t dislike how they fit but I wouldn’t mind bringing them inboard a little.

I too like your factory wheels best. Classic and timeless Ford truck. The extra tire poke of the titanium Method 316 means more muck tossed up on the truck. (and everyone around you) The black version avoids this but is black.

so they dont offer same offset with the exact same wheel?
Yeah, it’s strange considering it’s the same wheel they just paint it a different colour.

seems like you should email them. thats odd they dont offer the same wheel well in the right color.
I did send them an email, their response was that they just don’t offer the titanium in the same specs as black.

How much do your tires extend beyond the fenders?

Don’t blame you. Lifted in stock looks horrible. Oh wait. Nevermind.

If it were me, I’d get the wheel/offset I want and then have them powder coated in a color that Method does not offer at all. That way, you never have to see another truck on your same wheels again. Like mine. 😁

I mean, I don’t hate the stock wheels. They’re just somewhat plain. I’ve been also considering a few chrome delete options that the Methods would go well with but haven’t decided on anything until I hear back with some quotes. I may just end up leaving it the way it is currently.
