First time towing with the PB today, and boondocking at a reservoir campground on the VA/NC border that the Roanoke river feeds. Tows like a dream, and the ProPower has been flawless so far. Only 9.1 mpg doing 55-60mph most of the way with a 25' 6000lb travel trailer which is less than expected, but I may have to set my expectations lower with the steeper axle ratio.

Great pictures, great place to camp.

Being able to plug into the truck. Truck engine doesn't run a lot and it isn't loud when it does run.

Nothing wrong with a Bonaire, well ? 21 King Ranch with our 1976 Bonaire last year. Hoping once again it survived the winter for another trip this year late August. Also a better look at the start of last years trip.

Lol, yours looks in much better shape than ours. Ours was terrible. We had to shove blankets and hoodies at one point to try and seal the door. Also had to bungee the door closed cause it wouldn't lock and the dog figured out how to push the door latch to get out...

Still it got us out there and whetted our appetite for camping!

Just got back from a couple of weeks in Maine; the PowerBoost and our Airstream Basecamp 20X performed flawlessly. Cool temps meant limited A/C use in the camper except to remove humidity - and the largely silent PB was quieter than the A/C in the Airstream.

Very curious about the bike rack setup you have going on there....

The bike racks are made by Yakima and I bought them at REI. The rack is an Adarac and I bought that from tonneaucoversworld.com, which is where I bought my BAK Revolver roll-up cover. The rack allows the cover to be rolled and unrolled without interference. Really well made. Once they sent me the missing packages of connectors, installation was a breeze.

Thanks for sharing and great photos, looks awesome! Just got my PB this week and looking forward to go explore that exact area later this summer. Can't wait to graduate from the RTT to a trailer camper, and not have to deal with a noisy diesel generator. Starting to get tight in the tent with a growing family, and some folks, like my wife, just "needs" more creature comforts when she's pregnant :)

Very nice! Welcome to the club! You will love it up there. We're taking a grandson down to the Royal Gorge next week for a couple of nights. You and your wife are going to enjoy the ease and comfort of camping with the PB and a TT. Water supply and gray water tank capacity will be your limiting factors, not power, well, maybe getting back to work, but I'll blame it on fresh water supply.

Left town on Friday around midday. After a couple hour ride into the mountains near Buena Vista we found this nice dispersed camp spot. I was a bit anxious about how crowded it might be, but as it turned out we did not have to use any of our back up plans as there was plenty of room. Nearest campers were a couple hundred yards away. For as sloped as the area is, my spot was almost exactly level once we got down there from the road. I followed some previous advice and removed the sway bars up on the road while it was more level before going down to the creekside spot.

Had some delicious grilled shrimp pasta for dinner Friday night. Saturday and Sunday were for hiking and relaxation.

Saturday brunch after hiking was egg scramble and Saturday dinner was chicken fajitas. I love our Camp Chef stove. Makes outdoor cooking a breeze, especially with most of the prep work done at home. As you might have guessed, we love camp meals. We talked to exactly 3 people over the 48 hours we were there. No cell service. Perfect. Great views, cool mountain creek and lots of solitude.

The Powerboost performed admirably again. Kept the Micro Minnie plugged in most of the time even though there was no use for the AC this trip. 45 at night and 65-75 during the day. I did check the usage with the water pump and hot water heater running the readout was 1510 watts. I did not keep track of gas used, but it was negligible. I noticed that even when sitting around the campfire or hanging around camp, you hardly even notice the engine kicking on and off. It is so nice to enjoy camping without the burden of power management decisions or noisy generators. All in all, a wonderful get away. Can’t wait for the next trip.

Happy camping!

Here are some pics.

I just picked up my Powerboost. Any tips for using the generator while camping? I have an RPOD for boondocking. We have solar and upgraded to 2 lithium batteries, so I doubt I’ll need the on board generator, but knowledge is power.
Thanks!
Also, did you use a dog bone and plug it into the 120 or find an adapter to use the 30A?

One more thing for my fellow PBs. What is the MPG looking like while towing? Our RPOD is around 3k lbs and we tow on flat (I-5) and mountain roads. I won’t hold anybody to the numbers posted, just curious and can’t wait to take it camping.

Depends largely on your speed and front surface area of your camper, but you should get something in the neighborhood of 9-12mpg if you're doing 70mph.

Congrats! We bought this adapter for the 30A plug which works just fine. The PB doesn't even come close to maxxing out our energy needs even with the AC going, microwave, a tea kettle, and much more.

Awesome! Thanks. Funny thing is I just spent (a couple of months ago) about 1,800 upgrading the camper to 2 lithiums and an inverter. 😂
