Quick tune review after just a couple of days... It definitely improves throttle response and adds power. I was probably expecting more. The 5 Star tune I had in my 2017 3.5 EcoBoost would always put a smile on your face. I haven't done a 0-60 full throttle run yet so maybe I should hold off saying which I like better.
UPDATE: No 0-60 times yet but I have run it full throttle a little. It gets going fast enough you feel like you’d best keep full attention on the road. i may have been too gentle letting it learn shift strategies. I’d like a little firmer shift during wide open throttle.

I'd love to see some improvements related to the EV side but this is a great first step. I expect if they are able to make improvements current users will get updates.

Not sure how much more they can squeeze out of the EV. It's fairly small for the vehicle size. About the biggest change I could see be done is if they can code it increasing the battery charge percentage state from 40-70% to something like 30-80 or even 90% to possibly increase EV drive time cycles between charge cycles. All depends on what they can actually access and/or want to fiddle with.

Wasn’t on e30 unfortunately.
this was 93 octane
Right lane. Just off the highway, there’s plenty more in it. Never launched this thing, so I need to practice.

That’s moving. What was the DA/Temp like? Did you launch in AWD I assume?

Yes
IMHO, the 60' time is very respectable. Seeing this truck doing sub 13 seconds in the 1/4 is a trip! That is as fast as one of bored out, cammed and tuned I-4 Japanese motorcycles I used to drag race!

Bet the guy in the other lane was rather pissed/shocked.

That's really impressive. I also got the tune about a month ago and did a run with Dragy and pulled 4.91 sec 0-60 mph. I just made a few passes but expect better times with more experience launching this truck.

I was in high school in the early 70's.
Your status was automatically elevated based on the noise your V8 made and the tire smoke screech.

That big giant brick KingRanch would have been from outer-space to us, while it quietly smoked everything in the parking lot.

That's insanely amazing.

That 1/4 mile run is impressive and 60’ times are surprisingly good. If you are still on stock tires you’re reaching the speed rating by the end of the run. Where I’m from, there will be a lot of WRX/“performance sedan” owners getting their feelings hurt by a hybrid.

Tow/haul is giving me the best times. Not sure if you noticed the same

I will have to give that a go. Some good temps outside now so may try it out over the next night or so.

Have you noticed the shifts are little aggressive driving tame in normal mode? Might be a bit much for my liking.

i wonder if it has to do with that drive mode forcing ICE to stay on. I’ve had a couple occurrences where being in electric for too long and trying to accelerate quickly the system cuts power and doesn’t let the turbos spool, I suspect from lack of oil flow but don’t have the data to prove. I also haven’t checked amp charge rates at idle with tow mode, which may continuously charge the battery at idle, allowing for more electric assistance during WOT runs. I’m sure @snakebitten’s curiosity could find answers.

Interesting! I’ve only tried WOT with sport mode. Guess I need to find a backroad to do a comparison.

It should certainly help. my limited experience trying to find a good method in sport would see mine struggle trying to get the ice going off the line as it would go electric at a full stop. powerbraking to wake up the ice before flooring had it misfiring (triggered dtcs as well) a couple times as the PCM fights to keep it electric with brake fully depressed.

Getting it to behave more like an ecoboost would solve the transition weakness.
