6. Sunroof shade and glass. The buttons to open and close these do not have the ability for a hard press to open or close fully like the windows do. SO when I want to open the sunroof, I have to press the cover button..... wait for it to go back half way..... hit it again to open fully.... then hit the sunroof glass button.... wait for it to vent.... hit the button again for it to open fully.
I can open both fully with my 2014 explorer, and I don't mind having to press both buttons. The number of times my kids have asked for the shade to be open and I accidentally open the glass while it was raining is ridiculous.

Curious how many have taken a look underneath At the rear axels and shock mounts for the rust issue, read that in an article that it seems to be a problem. Like no seal coat or rust prevention was applied.

What is the correct fix for the rust issue?

As far as problems go, it's only been 2 weeks but I haven't had any besides the alarm triggering one night. I'm hoping there's an OTA update to fix this soon.

Here are my issues as of 2 weeks of driving....

1. Intelligent Cruse.
a. Not sure what the official name is, but the steering capability will just stop and most of the time never work again until I restart the vehicle.

b. There is a section of highway on my way to work where the truck thinks the speed limit is 45mph instead of the posted 65mph which causes the truck to dramatically slow down and cars behind me to have to hit their brakes pretty quick. There is no means that I have found to turn off the speed limit function, I would rather just set my desired speed. There is also no means that I have found to submit a speed limit error to ford.

c. With the lane centering the vehicle seems to favor the right side of the line which makes it a little hairy with vehicles in the lane to my right. I have been inches from touching side mirrors.

2. No way to set a default drive mode. I have a hour commute to work and drive in Eco mode, truck always defaults to Normal mode, gets annoying having to remember to change it every day.

3. Radio UI is not user friendly. Why is the seat massage under settings and not vehicle features? The favorite tile has a limited selection you can assign to it and many options (like seat massage) are not able to be assigned. Also no means to have anything other than SYNC Nav be full screen. I have Android Auto daily and there is no way for that screen to be full screen.

4. Probably not really a ford issue but wireless android auto is a massive battery drain, the wireless charger in the F-150 is no match for the power drain so I am back to plugging in my phone. Plus the wireless charger seems to be real specific on phone placement, I am sure that rubber mat over the charger does not help.

5. This is not really an issue just my OCD I guess, but why did they not make the top of the center console arm rest a separate storage area, there is only the massive storage under the arm rest with a single sliding tray that cant fit much so now there is just an unorganized pile under the arm rest.

If I think of anything else I will let you all know.
Your truck decides when to slow down and brings you within inches of making contact with other vehicles in motion??
I think this right here was the final straw. 95% sure I’m gonna cancel my order tomorrow. Rust and alarms are bad enough. But a truck with a mind of its own is just too much for me.
Mr. Gunny I’m going to pray for you and a few other guys in this thread.

This is is the latest on my 2021 Ford Limited. I filed a complaint around two weeks ago with customer relations. I have a case number. It has been in the shop over six weeks now after one week of driving. They have started the buyback documentation. My dealer has ordered a truck exactly like the one I have. No timeframe of when it will be coming but Ford is paying for a vehicle for me to use. My dealer has been great. Stay tuned.

1 - Pro Trailer Backup Assist. I cannot calibrate the Target Decal Option. It keeps telling me no sensor and won't go into calibrate mode.

2 - Rust on rear axle housing and rear wheel mounts

3 - Sync UI sometimes quits working while driving. I can touch it all I want, but no response. I have to pull over, power down the vehicle fully (shut down moor and open the door) and then restart.

My dealer has started the buy back on my lariat. I’m at 23 days in the shop, purchased 1/19, first call about 4wd noise was 1/23, went to the shop 1/26 I believe and stayed for 2 weeks. After that was fixed, a week later I’m back for a bunch of electrical issues. Total, I drove my truck about 15 days.

The dealer has refunded my entire purchase and this morning I put in my order for a 2021 F250 Tremor. I’m only paying the difference (about 10k). In the mean time, my lariat is still being worked on and if/when they fix it, I will pick it up and drive it until my tremor gets here.

ETA on my tremor is mid may. My dealership has been pretty awesome with this thing. Hopefully the nightmare will be over soon.

All of this is documented by myself, Ford and the dealership so I’m not expecting anything more to come until my tremor is built and delivered.

That’s really sad, sorry to hear that man. Did they give you a free loaner while your truck was in the shop?

1. Left and right selectable gauges revert back to factory setting
2. Radio will turn itself off overnight and when I turn it back on there will be some random satellite station on.
3. Apple carplay consistently kicks itself off. I believe this has to do with outside forces because it happens in the same spots all the time.
4. "Lane keeping off" will flash up at random times.
5. Engine idles rough when it comes out of EV mode.
6. My on screen Carplay tab will do absolutely nothing sometimes unless I disable and reconnect the phone.

So far my problems have mainly been electrical and not mechanical.

Typical forum content. Doesn't matter what brand you have. The vast majority of the owners are completely satisfied with the F150. Forums bring out the unhappy owners.

This is minor (and a software bug) but when I’m using Apple CarPlay navigation, I like to keep the music info up on the right hand side of the larger nav screen so I can see info on the artist and track. Periodically for no reason, that screen will say “no data available”. When I stop and restart the truck it comes back up. Should be a simple software fix they can apply OTA, whenever those arrive (surprised I haven’t seen any yet).

So there's people that are happy with things not working correctly on a new $50,000 + vehicle?

No, I'm saying there are a vast majority of owners that have nothing wrong but don't jump on forums for the reason they are all happy. Forums always bring out the unhappy, disgruntled owners. Been like that for the 20 some years I've participated on, Corvette, Ram, F150, Super Duty, Sea Ray, Formula forums... You would never buy anything if you figured forum content was true cross-section of all owners.

Heh heh—that 50,000 number caused me to reply—mine MSRPd for 50,060,
And out the door with add ons, warrantee, TTL came to 50,804
Only thing not working properly on mine is the car play thing, but that may be my lack of tech savvy. Everything is probably fine. It does however wig out after a phone call or alarm—-just flashes thru the music without actually playing. If I change sources and then change it back, it works fine.
Idles so nice I have to look at tach to see it is actually running.
Fuel mileage on display seems to fib just a bit—no biggy.
Can’t say the ride is any nicer than my old Chevy, but I am pretty partial to that vehicle.
Still getting used to the automatic trans as this is only my second auto trans pickup in over 40 years.
Seems to shift a lot and Likes to hang around 8th at 40-50 mph
Can’t really feel the cylinder deactivation turning cylinders off, but can see it on the mileage monitor on the dash—shoots up to 30+mpg and slowly drops to about 25.
Can feel the cylinders turning on tho, feels like an additional downshift and then the monitor drops to 5mpg for a couple of seconds.
The Ford store ordered another driver headlight assy yesterday due to a broken lens retainer, but it does not really affect the performance of the lamp
Also, they had to remove a wheel to reset the center cap. Seems someone got a little over zealous when whacking it into the wheel and it went in pretty damn crooked.
Overall, pretty content with it as the uncoated undercarriage parts don’t really bother me too much.
Fuel mileage is okay, it’s quiet with windows up, acceleration is impressive, and no MAJOR defects in the paint or fit of exterior or interior parts.

Not heavily optioned 301a, and the only options that are high tech related are remote start and locking rear end (okay-not high tech stuff)
