Newbie, and first time poster. I currently have a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited with a cargo capacity of approx 1250lbs. Looking to buy a travel trailer this summer and realized if our trailer weighs let's say 7,000 pounds, the the hitch weight could be 700-1050lbs. So I'm 300 pounds and before the wife and dogs and any cargo get in I am over my cargo capacity. I see F-150 lists Eco-boost 4X4 max cargo at 3250. I'd like to get around 2,000 max cargo. We are looking at a Limited. Can it be done? Local dealer only had a Platinum Eco, and max payload was just over 1500. I know options can add some weight but cut the max from 3250 to 1500??? I was hopeful I could stay in a half ton and still tow up to 10,000lbs, but it looks like the payload numbers will keep me out of any of the nicer trim levels. Can anyone with a Limited share their max cargo numbers inside the door??? Thanks

A 4x4 Limited will be in the low 1300's for Powerboost, or low 1500's for Ecoboost. The only weighty option you can leave out is basically the spray in liner. If you are ok with 4x2, you get 200 pounds back and might be around 1700# in a 3.5EB.

The 3250# is misleading as it requires HDPP (heavy duty payload package) which the max trim you can get is an XLT 301a, which is not a trim level you will want coming from a Limited Ram or F150, unless you make big bell and whistle sacrifices.

Go on the Ford site and "search inventory" and find some Limiteds in your area at any dealer. Go here and put in the VIN, it will tell you the max payload, etc. Try it with the different engines and drive trains.

I just did this on a Limited PB 4X4 that is near me that is a dealer owned (Family run Dealer) unit that I tried to buy.

Payload on that one with the max recline / work surface is 1367 lbs.
I should be around there as I skipped on the work surface & the max recline. I'm looking to tow a 6700 Air Stream FWIW....

Why couldn't you just ditch the 22's, get some 20's in load range E and some overload aribags?

This is extremely helpful, thanks. I'm going to stick with the 23' airstream that has a loaded pin weight of 467 lbs. With me and the fam in the truck (w/ luggage in the trailer) we will be right at 85% payload ish. My truck is in build limbo right now so I wont know for sure until I get it.

Wow. That’s really better than I would have thought. Not bad at all comparatively speaking.

The OP was asking about towing 10,000 lbs. The brakes these come with are definitely capable of stopping 10,000 lbs.
True. It just gets dicey when you are at max payload and above 85% on the towing rating. I agree that bags are in order... I'll be close to max payload when I ever get to tow with mine. I'm limiting the rig to about 7000lbs so I can be safe. To each their own though. If I wanted heavier, I'd upgrade to a 250 diesel.
