Residuals on the Mach-e are very low (about 34 percent for 4 years, 10,500 miles), but the Ford Options payment was still about $150 per month cheaper than traditional financing for 1.9 percent / 72 months.

Edit: this was for a Mach-e GT.
I feel like we really can't compare because there's many competitive vehicles to the mach e and at least until 2023/2024 there's really nothing competing with the lightning

I spoke with Ford customer service and that is what the lady told me YESTERDAY.

Also, my dealer called me TODAY to say they have been informed of a dealer allocation of 10 trucks for the next wave of orders.

They have me #8 on the list so they told me to watch out for the email next Wednesday or Thursday!!!

Super exciting!
Thank you for sharing. There are only 210 authorized dealers for the Ford F-150 Lightning as I understand it. Surely the first wave (200 total orders) was a test run and they will ramp up starting in wave 2. That would mean wave 2 would be 2100 orders on the way to 50K total orders by wave 6.

No idea where you got your numbers, but there are 2100 (not 210) EV certified dealers in the us (with more in Canada), and I don't think anyone is projecting 50k for model year 2022 - that would be and insane ramp - basically full production after a few weeks.

You’re right, I remembered the number incorrectly. My mistake, you’re right.

These numbers don't add up. There are 2300 certified EV Ford dealers. Ford has already stated that they are going to walk and not run with this. Unless something changed the forecast was 22,000 2022 F150 trucks.

"Demand for the F-150 Lightning reservations carried steadily through 2021, topping over 200,000 as of early December. We also learned that those reservations did not account for future fleet customers. Based on previous production timelines shared by Ford, we determined that every F-150 Lightning had been spoken for into 2024, depending on how many people follow through on their reservations.

To combat this demand, Ford has already doubled its Lightning production once, in August. That new timeline consisted of 15,000 Lightning EVs in 2022, 55,000 in 2023, and 80,000 in 2024. At the time, Ford was targeting 160,000 trucks in 2025 when the second-generation F-150 Lightning debuts."

Dealer had salesman contact me in December. Said he would be handling the transaction. In Jan he asked me to email the build I wanted. A week later he said he couldn't help because Ford mandated the email wave. Don't those guys know what Ford is doing?

My dealer has no clue how this works. He said he’ll all me when it’s my turn, and that ford doesn’t allow online ordering. Only build and price.

Technically, he right. Your online “order“ isn’t an order to Ford until the dealer sends it to them.

Just got an email from my dealer in Bay Area, restated what we already knew, wave two emails going out Thursday 20th in the afternoon from Ford. Said he checked and could see that I'm in that wave. I had reserved about 3 mins into the reveal presentation on May 19th,

Yeah my dealer said emails going out Thursday afternoon also. Might be some confusion about email invites vs actual ordering though....
