License Plate Bracket

Just received my truck a couple days ago and wanted to install a tinted plate cover, but the OEM bracket has clips on top (screws on bottom) which don't let the cover seat properly. Any tips or replacements? I do not want to drill any holes.

do you ever plan on taking a license plate off? i get wanting to preserve the truck but its mandatory in ontario so it is what it is. tap it be done with it and never think about it again

I had to replace the license plate bracket on my 2016 before, and it's just a cheap (~$15 as I recall) piece of plastic that simply snaps in place. Assuming the current trucks have a similar design, (which would make sense since the front plate bracket it optional for states that don't require it) it's a very simple repair if you ever want to make it "stock" again.

I just did mine a couple of days ago. I cut the edge off of the tinted license plate cover in the exact spots where the tabs on the bracket are. Took less than 10 minutes and I am satisfied with the results

How were you able to get blue lettering plate? I thought for tucks you can only get black lettering.

I believe it is illegal in most states and provinces but I see it all the time and I think you will get away with it if you get the ones that are not too tinted.

Am I missing something? It looks like there is adequate room behind the license plate holder and the bumper. I would shop for a very shallow bolt and shallow nut to fit right behind the actual plate holder.
