I love my 22 Powerboost, but I have to agree with CR. Reliability wise, mine has sucked.

Everything has been warranty.

I’ve had 14 different recalls.

I’ve owned it for 30 months. It’s been in the shop 30-40 days. Mostly waiting for parts…

Exhaust heat exchanger
2 cats cleaned
2 cats replaced
12V battery
Belt integrated starter generator

We can love the truck- and I do…but we can also admit Ford really blew the execution on this one…

I paid $74k

Trade in is $35k. 53k miles, less than 3 years old.

I should have just bought the Coyote!

It’s why I went ecoboost.

My only regret in my build is not getting the coyote too. Damn shame. The ecoboost hauls though.

And I should have skipped the pano roof. I rarely use it. All it does is rattle on gravel roads.

I have a 21 PB with 44k miles. The only issue I have had is the crap start battery with the associated issues. Ford replaced the battery at 35k miles. I expect to see the same issues soon and will replace it with a better battery.
As for recalls, mine was built in April of 21 and have only had to take it in for 5 or 6 recalls and most of those just happened to be around oil change time anyway.
I guess I have been blessed to have only these issues.

Your trade in is $35000? I have a 2023 Lariat PB and it's 2 yrs old with 12050 miles on it. I wonder what my trade in is ?

Mine has been rock solid other than replacing the OEM 12V battery which I did myself in 5 minutes. Zero time in the shop for anything other than regular maintenance. 2021 Lariat here.

This forum specifically seems to have a very pro Powerboost bias. I've never understood it.

Go elsewhere and people :poop: all over them.
Well, that's because they're pretty awesome. Fast AF (will school a Raptor) and the Propower system is incredibly useful if you have a travel trailer or need power for work sites. The only downside is a lower payload number. I have not had any reliability issues at all, through 45,000 miles.

Sell the damn thing and buy a truck with a 5.0

There are quite a few people that haven’t had problems. If you look for doom and gloom, you will find doom and gloom.

How many of those issues are PB specific? I see two from that short list. I too have a '22 PB and have not had 14 recalls, and the ones I did have had nothing to do with the hybrid system that I can remember. I'm no Ford or PB apologist, just seems weird when people throw out numbers like 14 recalls when 11-12 are likely F150 related and not the specific power train they're complaining about.

I picked up an off-lease CPO '21 Lariat PB with 29k miles for $40k. Built August '21 (Job 2). Carfax shows the previous owner only had it back to a dealer twice during almost 3 years of ownership. Seems to be running well for me and I'm getting an incredible 24-25 mpg (it's 2WD). Though I have had 2 instances of a rough transition between electric and engine modes. Seems to affect gas pedal vibration as a result but not sure, it's pretty subtle. Fingers crossed.

Same here, '21 KR PB. 89,000 miles. Built in April '21. A handful of recalls. But now, some gremlins are beginning to show up. I've had the screen of death where I had to wait a while before it would respond to the start button. My running boards have a mind of their own sometimes where I have to open and close the door to get the passenger side to deploy, and occasionally the driver's side too. A few times it has shaken and shuddered, almost stalling when first started. It seems to idle a little rough now. Based on a lot of comments here, I am afraid to take it to the dealer out of fear they will keep it for days or weeks fiddle farting around, and unable to diagnose the problem. If the OBD can't tell them, they are lost. No good diagnosticians out there anymore.

So here on the Gen14 FORD F150 forum, how much love do we see for Ram or GM or Toyota?

Yet elsewhere, you know...... a Toyota forum, you will see pro-Tundra members.

Why would you be surprised that this is where Pro-Powerboost owners would be found? 😬

Having said that, I'm shocked that you don't see all the Powerboost rants that are found here as well. 🙄🤣🤣🤣

I've had the wiper motor recall and the CHMSL camera done under warranty. Given the high C rate of the HVB, I do suspect it will need an in-warranty replacement eventually. Otherwise there's not a vehicle on the market I'd trade it for.
