2021 F-150 XLT Sport 4x4 Ledfoot Grey
Just purchased this 2021 XLT Sport 4x4 yesterday! I was at the dealer for the 5th time looking for the right truck and I literally saw the semi truck pull in with this truck on it and bought it on the spot with 3.5 miles! So happy with the Ledfoot Grey. I traded in a 2016 XLT Sport 4x4.

I wanted a Lead Foot truck so bad. Couldn’t find one local with the options I wanted.
Second choice was guard, so it would match my Lincoln, but you couldn’t get guard with the sport package (I don’t like chrome/shiny).
I got one that’s silver, which definitely wouldn’t be on a truck I built, but now that I have it, I think it looks really good with the sport package.

Does anyone else with Lead Foot paint notice minor scratches etc more than a metallic color? Will a ceramic help hide these?
Yes you will notice more because of a single stage paint. Metallic hides a lot. Ceramic can help, but I recommend PPF

Single stage paint? Does that mean no clear coat or a paint without metallic?

It has clear coat, but no metallic in it at all. The way they do single stage is weird now, it does show scratches very easily

Still to come - TruckVault halfwidth drawer and eventually a true lift kit (likely the Icon Stage 4).
Did you just order the Ford OEM skull caps that come on the XLT? Thinking about changing my chrome caps with those guys, or an aftermarket lead foot painted one but they want a lot for them. Also, was it hard to take the rear sticker off? The factory slant they put on this FX4 stickers are driving me a little bonkers! lol!

Yep, Ford OEM skull caps. The local parts guy had a heck of a time trying to order them but frankly that was on their incompetence. I gave up and ordered them online - easy install.

The FX4 stickers came right off without any issue - I will say I removed them as soon as I got home with the truck though. If you have any issues a heat gun is your friend and then if needed GooGone to clean up after.

I’m not much of a forums guy but I recently read up in the last few weeks and wanted to leave my truck on here with what I had done. I received my truck last week, a 21 Lariat in lead foot. First thing after I set up my Ford app on my phone I got a notification of free Nav and Blue Cruise for 3 years. I took it straight to my closest highway and let her rip. It’s pretty cool. It tells you when driver assist is on( it will steer but you have to have your hands on the wheel) and when it says hands free, you let go and it does the driving. A little nerve racking when you get into traffic but it does everything. Second, I just got a readylift 3.5” lift with BFG KO2 285/65/20 on the factory rims. No rubbing at all without removing anything. I’m pretty happy with the outcome and all the info I got from these forums. Here’s how she looks.

They ran out of the color?
I believe it’s not so much they ran out of the colour but more so they switched over to producing 22 MY trucks and Lead Foot is discontinued for that year. I guess they don’t want Lead Foot on 22 MY trucks No matter when you ordered.

Many polls show Lead Foot as the most favorite color in the F-150. I guess I understand Ford’s decision to axe such a popular color, especially when most trucks are special ordered these days. They need a variety of colors on the road to keep more people interested in the truck vs. the competition overall… plus, they don’t necessarily want to be known as the grey truck brand. In a few years, they kill off a couple popular blues and, who knows, maybe lead foot will be back. Altho, I saw a Ford Edge in Lithium Gray at the dealer and that thing was awesome… I believe Ford used to make the F-150 in that color (of course).

Good points. I too saw an Edge Lithium Grey at the dealer and thought it was awesome! Would have been my next choice but they don’t offer it on the 22’s so I went with Space White. I don’t like metallic colours too much or I’d go Carbon Grey.

Finally able to join the club. Ordered back in Aug, but just took delivery yesterday. Haven’t done much to it or with it, but I’m excited and the color is beautiful!

Yep, they are the Method 316s - +18 5.75" backspacing. They poke out further than the stock wheels but not too much and with the OEM mudflaps I don't get much, if any mud splatter on the truck.
