Just wondering - why are folks putting a leveling kit on their trucks? Am I missing something? What does it do for the truck?
I'm just not a fan of the rake :)

They think it looks cooler and it lowers mpg. I would not recommend it.

not sure if this is a trick question or not! It raises the front end up closer to the height of the backend. There is a 2.5” rake (difference in front and back level) from factory. It increases ground clearance a bit, allows for bigger tires to be installed, and is cheaper than a true lift. Oh and it looks cool. ?

No, certainly not a trick question. I had never heard of the "rake" and I've had trucks all my life and was always satisfied with the way I bought them. Thanks for answering my question and the education I got from it. Not sure I would level it out if it reduces MPG. Hummm......decisions....

it’s a subtle difference…I don’t like levels with stock tires, and I don’t like aggressive tires without a level. Some before and afters including mine. I lost 2 mpg, but to put it in perspective, that’s $250/yr if you drive 12,000 miles.

I can truly see the difference in the pictures with the front ends. MPG is important to me as I travel to Alabama from Missouri about 7-8 times a year. Thanks for letting me know the difference - believe I'll keep the stock leveling I have. I also have the Pirelli Scorpion tires, which I don't like and looking forward to wearing them out to get something better. They looked good on my 2011 FX2 I had but the first set only lasted about 30K miles.

I've got a question....my '22 KR is supposed to be built next week, I was wondering what OEM tires come with these trucks...looks like in 2021 they used the Pirelli Scorpions? More specifically, I've got the 601a package with the 20" bronze wheels, guess I'm wondering if anyone knows if they're using them again.

TIA!

The primary reason that Ford applies a rake to its trucks is to provide an allowance for squat when towing - put on a 1,000-pound trailer tongue weight and the rear bumper drops about 3", or a 1" squat (1" below level). Other OEMs with air suspensions don't do this because they have built-in leveling. I've been hoping that Ford would add air suspensions this for many years, have been using airlift bags to eliminate squat on most of my trucks, including the 2021 F-150 KR PB.

Not sure about the 2022's but my 2021 KR came with the Pirelli Scorpions. I'm not happy with them. They don't look the same as the same tires that was on my 2011 FX2. I'll go with the Goodyear Ultraterrain AT's next.

Just ordered a ‘22 antimatter KR high. Left off adaptive steering. Maybe shouldve added that…

Will be trading my ‘21 lariat sport 502a when it comes
