Rookie question here guys but where do you all place your floor jacks for lifting the front and rear?

some say you can lift the rear from the pumpkin however the manual says not to.

what about the front, is there a jacking point or just the frame rail?

like I said...rookie question.
I want to get out in the garage and poke around under there....mostly to get out of the house haha

Regardless of how or where you Jack the truck up, GET SOME JACK STANDS. Might save your life.
Well ya of course. But thanks for looking out.
Jack stands going on the rear axle and frame rails in the front.
Just curious where everyone jacks the trucks up from.

It's listed on page 520 of the manual. I found the link in this forum for the PDF. I don't remember where though.

Here it is:

They don't want you to jack under the [rear differential] because it might be rusted through already.:LOL:?

[Edited so that hopefully a few people won't think I'm a complete idiot.]

Do you mean the read differential?
Yes, the rear differential is exactly what I meant. I should not attempt to be funny while I've got my attention split across several other different modes of transportation. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you guys.
I ordered some touch up paint and some filters. When I picked them up from the dealer they were kind enough to print out the jacking and lift points for the car from the Ford service manual the dealer uses.

So you can jack up from almost anywhere on the rear axle except the rear differential it seems. I guess we'd prefer to jack up from a central jacking point but oh well.

What are the rear jack points if you're using a 2 post lift?

On my 1996 RCSB I would just put the rear lift arms as far back under the frame rail as possible. Not sure how the weight distribution works with new CCSB.

I would imagine that should be sufficient. Otherwise it would be unsafe for shops to use a 2 post lift for a lot of their work.

Would you mind sharing that info?

Well, care to share?

Is this referring to a shop lift with 4 arms, or also a standard floor jack?
