Hello all, my f150 with 2500 miles is making a weird growling sound when releasing the breaks, and only when completely stopped. Is this sounds normal? I just noticed it this week so not sure if it’s been like this since I got new. I have heard this sound before in previous cars, but just assumed it was because the car was old, this is my first new car so just want to know what everyone’s thoughts are before I bring it into the dealer

sounds is similar to the sound this guys was experiencing

Disc brakes do not retract when you let off the pedal.
all you are doing is releasing the pressure you built up to get stopped in the first place.
Occasionally, a piston will “hang” just a bit, or a pad might stick.
Once you start moving, you can get a chatter, or groan until the pad actually lets go of the rotor.
The pads are always floating on the rotor, just not hard enough to heat up or cause excessive wear.

Right before I sold my Ranger, I replaced rotors and pads (along with ball joints).
Since 90% of my miles are rural, the pads still had about 70% pad left at 130,000 miles. However, the rotors were worn too thin to turn.
