Has anyone declared lemon law protections over the inability to get BC and other software issues to work?

Today is day 19 my truck has been in service for all the software "updates" and also to get BC working. I know they have replaced one part so far and said they are working with Ford to get it figured out. Now that I am nearly 2/3 to the Georgia lemon law, has anyone else ended up going that route?

It's sad as I never had an issue with either of my previous King Ranches. So I ordered another KR.

My trucks been at my dealership in New Jersey since April 7th to have the stuck 1.7.1 OTA issue resolved. I'm now ten days in to the 20 required to start a case here, they needn't be consecutive days either. Just 20 days for the same problem. Last Friday I made my last call asking is it "ready yet" now I'm going to let them flounder for the next 10 days and wait for them to call me. If it's not repaired buy then, my next step will be a registered letter to Ford Motor Company they will get one chance by law to fix the truck and another 20 days to do so. If they can not fix the vehicle by then I can start the proceedings of lemon law here and within 1 week it will be bye bye F-150.
I love the truck but I'm extremely frustrated, disappointed, and pissed off about the way they have handled this whole situation. Virtually no customer communication from Ford, dealer service writer's that do not understand the technology in these vehicles well enough to relay the problem to there tech. Techs that are being asked to be computer geeks and not mechanics using this shitty FDRS interface that seems arcane. It's a 70k truck not a 1k iPhone! I would put my money on the kid at the Apple store over any Ford dealer any day of the week

I’m in the same boat. 22 days now, Ohio lemon law is 30. Finally got a loaner after they replaced the apim but still couldn’t program anything. Local lemon law attorney said he thinks I have a case and I just sent over all the documents he required. I’ve had a case open with the ota team since 1/28 and nothing has come of that either. Definitely frustrating.

I also have a 2021 Jeep Rubicon 4xe that had to go to service for a long time. After 2 months the coolant pump for the battery went out and they had a heck of a time getting one in due to the supply chain issues. Chrysler reached out to me and did everything they could to take care of me. They even offer a buyback and I didn't have to file with a lawyer or threaten anyone. Knowing it was just a supply shortage I just waited, got the part, and kept the jeep. Chrysler still took care of me.

The difference in this matter is the issues with this truck are not the fault of a supply shortage that is out of their control. This was just a half-ass way to take care of a software problem and get the features promised and paid for when purchased by Ford. In my opinion, @Fordmotorcompany should be more proactive addressing customers on this site and at dealership service areas.

I am not hating on Ford as I still love their trucks. I just think this situation is a complete blunder by the company and hope they get their issues straight soon.

Day 22 in service. I guess those that have gone through this have all signed non-disclosure documents and can't comment.

Beginning to wonder seriously about my rig. First it was the "reverse brake assist not available" error. It took 5 trips to the dealer for it to finally get fixed. Next was the underbody insulator recall (1 trip to confirm they are coming loose and 3 months later they got the parts in so another day to fix. Then the recall for the trailer brake controller software patch. Next is the window wiper recall (no parts on the foreseeable future). Next the rear passenger door speaker went out, so it went in for that diagnosis (parts ordered). And now yesterday, fluid leaking on the front axle seal and the fancy fold-down shifter is broken ( when you shift out of drive and go to park , if you aren't careful the shifter will slide past park into the fold-down possition, when it does that it can take several attempts to get it out of park). All in all about 9-10 trips to the dealer for various mechanical issues on a truck not even 10 months old with more on the horizon when the parts come in. I will have to say the dealer has been great to deal with. Though it is sad that I'm on a first name basis with them and the shuttle drivers know exactly where I live.

In Florida it is 15 days and I have just exceeded that for the 22B08 "customer satisfaction" recall for ECM Recovery. The dealer has tried to contact Ford for the second time. I insisted in Ford Customer Service open an escalated case and promised a call within a day. That was two days ago.

Remember they don't give you anything for non-Ford add-ons (I had a spray-in bed liner and Tonneau cover). Nor do they refund your tax, title, etc. And then they prorate it for the use you got; I don't know if its mileage or age.

Good luck to us all.

What did they finally do to fix it. That is my issue but the dealer is trying everything to fix it.

My truck has been to service twice so far for a cumulative total of 37 days for these software issues. Each time it left less things working and still doesn't work now. Requested a buy back from Ford under Geogia Lemon Law and they denied it saying they didn't have it 30 consecutive days. Georgia requires cumulative,, not consecutive. BTW ... on the first visit they had it 27 days and called me to say they haven't fixed it but wanted me to pick it up till they figure it out. Thanks Ford!

Wow, this is just horrible.

My experience was similar to most of the previous posts; my truck was in for a cumulative 33 days between Nov '21 and May '22. Here in PA, the requirements for a lemon law claim are not as demanding as what others are sharing, and it was something that I was very seriously considering.

While it seems I'm FINALLY out of OTA purgatory, there were a couple major considerations that kept me from officially pursuing a claim:

1. There's just no stock available, and I really wasn't eager to join the ranks of those "when will my new truck ever be delivered?" people.

2. Even if I were to recoup the full purchase price of my truck, I'd surely end up with a net loss after legal fees (and likely "upgrading" to a '22 to avoid similar issues).

For what it's worth, I did receive SOME compensation from FoMoCo back in February. After about 4 months of back-and-forth and escalations with their "customer service", one of the higher level reps offered me a PremiumCare Protect policy to 75k. I certainly don't consider it a "win" after all the headaches this truck has given me, but it's more than I was expecting them to offer.

I’ve never owned a vehicle that would give me any major issue except one transmission replaced under warranty. My current ride has 200k trouble free miles on it. I was shooting for 10 years of reliable usage with my brand new PB. Starting to think it might be just a pipe dream

Ford said that the issue may be the dealer's firewall. They are trying to program it back to before the recall so I can drive it. I have found a better dealer who seems to know what they are doing and specialize in Trucks.

After Ford said they denied my request for a buyback/replacement verbally on the phone I asked if they could send me their decision in writing or an email so I know on what grounds it was denied. They refused to do so. I asked to speak to a supervisor to see why they can't send it to me and they told me several time one with call me. I never received a call.

They told me repeatedly I can request arbitration through my state (which I finally did today). I also said my truck issues are still not fixed and asked what do I do now. They had no answer. WTF Ford!!

Since 2015 I have bought 2 King Ranches and a Platinum, I am supposed to pick up my Bronco Wildtrak next week, I have another King Ranch on order that I should get in a couple months, and I have been considering throwing my name in for a Lightning. After this very poor experience Ford may be loosing a good repeat customer. :(

So I was driving around town yesterday and my truck started having major issues. Check engine light came on along with the traction control, ABS, and some other light that I wasn't sure what it was. Then I got warnings for Blind Spot System Fault, Cross-Traffic System Fault, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Service AdvanceTrac, and Reverse Brake Assist Not Available See Manual repeatedly. Also, the power started completely cutting out a couple of times when I accelerated. I immediately drove to the Dealership where it is now. Great day :(
