Has anyone had issues getting their truck insured? I have Progressive. Go to get a quote and a question asks if the vehicle is equipment with 120V electrical or higher. That question prompted an "ineligible for coverage" message. I called in and, after sitting for 20 minutes, had the rep confirm that they can't generate a policy with the onboard generator. They're escalating but I pick the truck up Saturday, so not a lot of time for them to get their ducks in a row.

I am going to wager a guess....when they see "onboard generator" it triggers them to think commercial vehicle....Just a guess.....

No clue. Geico has no issues with it.

Don’t basically all the trucks (and others) come with a 400w 120v plug-in?

Yeah, that's the part I don't get.

Interesting State Farm didn't even ask and this Platinum is cheaper than my 2019 Lariat to insure.

No issues with USAA - I already called them so they are prepared soon as I sign for the truck.

Got my estimate via Progressive no problem. Only additional questions it asked about were related to automatic braking assist, nothing about power.

I'm having troubles with Travelers. My agent added it to my policy and I happened to notice that it is a "stated value policy of $42,000" rather than my other cars that are "Actual Cash Value". I pointed this out and he says the VIN is wrong (it's not). I sent him picture of the VIN; as well as my window sticker.

I let him know that the engine is a new option for Ford (Powerboost) and that might be throwing a wrench in Travelers identifying the truck.

I don't like the state value though. My platinum is worth quite a bit more than $42k. (at least for today).

I'll say this though: my $85k Platinum (CND) was cheaper to insure than my (much cheaper) Ford Escape, for some reason. Oh well! lol

I just check my traverlers insurance and it says actual cash value.
