To save some people trouble of having to dig around -
1. Purchase ML3Z-19H332-AB from whatever Ford dealer you wish.
2. Remove coin holder from dash using plastic trim tool. If you pull on it outwards it'll give you a little bit of space to wedge a trim tool behind it and pop it out the rest of the way.
3. Disconnect the connector from the coin holder, connect the trailer brake control switch, and pop it into the dash. It will only fit in one way.
4. Remove old trailer brake module from driver's footwell area by unplugging both gray and black connectors, removing the two 10mm bolts, and pushing the module upwards to disengage the plastic clip from the bracket.
5. Install new trailer brake control module and reconnect connectors.
6. Fire up FORScan and load the vehicle, enter the module configuration and programming section (looks like a computer chip), enter the IPC module configuration (highlight it and press the play button), scroll down and change Trailer Brake Controller and Trailer Brake Gain Setting to Enabled instead of disabled, then click write. Cycle key.
7. Clear all DTC's under the DTC button, cycle key, and read DTC's. You should have one under TRM for module not configured. Enter module configuration and programming again, but this time go into as-built data for TRM. There will be a button to load as-built data for the module from the internet. Load it, write the new values, clear DTC's, and cycle key again.
8. Re-check for DTC's and you should have none stored. Squeeze the trailer brake controller switch and press the gain up and down buttons and verify the in the cluster display all functions are working.
9. Congrats!
I threw the coin holder and old module in the garbage as I will never need them again, and they aren't worth any value in resale because they are so cheap new.
