Looks good, I've been considering one. On that last picture the gap looks big but I'm betting it's not.

How big would you say that gap actually is?

Overall do you think it matches the contour of the bed evenly all the way around? I looked at some pics online of an older truck and it looked like the cover sat quite aways from the sides of the truck and didn't look right to me. Like too big of a lid on a tupperware bowl.

It's been a few months, still happy with your cover? any problems?

Any pictures from the back looking down the side?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to do my due diligence before I spend the money.

Thanks

It‘s not a big gap and doesn’t stick too far over the sides. Been on the back for about 30,000 miles with no problems. You do loose a little bit of vision in the rear view mirror because the top sticks up higher than the truck bed. No issues with water intrusion, no rattle, has its own LED light, stays in the upright position when open and is lockable. Just what I wanted. Comes with a wall hanging bracket if you and a buddy need to remove it and store it out of the way. Ford Color coded matching paint.

Thanks for getting back to me. It was your first picture in the post that actually sold it for me.

I ordered one today from a dealer and he will install it next week!

I went with the black textured because I'm cheap and I think it will match overall better because my truck has a lot of black plastic on it already. The race red would have been a little much I think for the overall look. If the whole truck was color matched then it might have been different.

It's good to know that you have been problem free for 30,000 miles. Yours being a platinum does it have a regular key with the fob? They have done away with the bolt brand lock cylinder which I was hoping for but I was told they haven't used since 2018. My info was old, I hope I can retrofit one.

Again, Thanks!

My Platinum FOB doesn’t have a regular key, all wireless. The bed cover was supplied with a keyed lock.

Is the yellow thing hanging down in the open picture one of those safety features like if you were locked in a trunk?

It comes with that? The guy at the truck place didn't mention it. Of course he wasn't trying to do a sell because I came to him. So I'll have all sorts of surprises.

Yes, just like a trunk release on a car.

A few pictures of the Undercover Elite cover Installed on a ‘21 Platinum Carbonized Gray. I happy with the fit, finish and sturdiness.

Will a 30 amp trailer shore power cord fit between the tailgate and the undercover tonneau?

I went with the "SE" and I love it!
A week after I installed it, it rained like holy hell for a month straight and not a drop in my bed.

I went with the SE because I plan to install surface anchors on the outside of the bed so I can strap stuff down on the top of the Tonneau. The “SE” doesn’t have the hump in the middle so it’s a flat surface.

No, there is not much of a gap but you might come up with some way to do it if you are determined to.

Yours is the 5.5, How heavy would you say it is to lift it? I'm finding it to be a two hand job by having to turn the keylock and then push up the lid. (6.5 foot) I wonder if some stronger struts would make that a little easier?

It feels slightly heavy for the first lift up on it then the struts take over and I’m grabbing the strap to slow it down. Doesnt matter if it’s locked or not you still have to turn the knob to release the hold downs so it makes it a little tricky for one handed opening for me.

Yes, I think I would have liked the older style lock better. Where it was locked or unlocked and you didn't have to use two hands. Now when I walk up to it with groceries or something to put in the back you have to figure out where to set them to get it open. Can't set it on top of it and don't really like putting my groceries on the ground. Guess I will just have to get used to it.

I called undercover, they only use one type of piston for both size lids. 40-45 pounds. 27" extended and 17" compressed.
