I believe the blue cruise date of 10-06-2073 is just a typo in OTA 3.5.3.2

So I saw someone post about their blue cruise date changing from something like 10-03-2023 to 10-06-2073.

Injust got 3.5.3.2 the other day so I decided to check and sure enough mine is also at 10-06-2073. I'd be willing to bet this is just an incremental update of 3 months and that the 7 is simply a typo and was supposed to be a 2.

I went out to test blue cruise and at first I thought it was broken, it would only connect to the style where you need to move the wheel every 10 seconds, and even that kept canceling. After about 5 miles I pulled into an off ramp to look through settings. I sat for like 5 minutes, then got back on the road and blue cruise worked right away flawlessly.

I feel like their used to be a setting called blue cruise, am I wrong? Either way with the following settings blue cruise still works, and I verified in my app that it's not a lifetime subscription like some thought. 🫠

FYI my date was 10-06-2023 after 3.5.3 but changed to 10-06-2073 after receiving 3.5.4.

Interesting. I think 10-06-2023 is what thru are going for. It makes no sense that 2073 is on purpose.

It is NOT a part of the apart of the apim update and is in the gateway. This is a file all to itself.

This was intentional. To prevent the issues they have had every quarter it has been a huge headache for them. The date updated to 2023 of June and now 2073. It changed the file name as well. So it was intentional

Yes. They will but the every three months was a huge headache for Ford and me to be honest. It used to be a part of each gateway update. Then they changed it in the last gateway update to be updated via ota.

They don't change anything really in the map file other than the date. It was their way of controlling the subscription.

They either didn't want the quarterly headache anymore or they may make BC free.

we will see but for now it was intentional

Also its not wrong.. we all kinda were scratching our heads.. I did a network scan and saw the file change. We were all curious about it. They made three changes fairly quickly one after another.

I don't have 3.5.3 and mine says that.
