You didn't get a notification that there was an update? Or does it only do that for the big ones where you can't drive your truck?
No I did not, and I thought I had auto-update turned off as I've had two bad updates pushed to my truck. I only found out after I got back in and fired it up

It does not notify you when an OTA update is sent/queued to you nor when the files are downloading. It notifies you only after it successfully installs. If there are errors of any kind, it doesn't notify you either.

Not totally correct. If you have auto-updates turned off it will download it and then prompt you to install it. Well, at least it's supposed to do that.

Interesting, maybe that's my deal. I never lock it.

I also did a search and it turns out I am about 5 blocks from an AT&T tower, I can see it from my house. I wonder if I should just disable wifi since that doesn't seem to help.

Only if the update requires vehicle to be inhibited. If not, it will install it even if auto updates is off.

Correct. We've been pretty lucky on the Lightning side the last week. Got a new GUI design and two subsequent updates. One of them installed while driving down the road, literally popping up the install message. Others reported the screen rebooting a time or two while they drove.

We have the same settings- Automatic Installs? and Time of Day settings. Neither of them mean a thing for some of these updates.

Of course we have another update for "DTE - Distance To Empty". Some trucks won't install this one after weeks. Seems it is all about the SOC of the 12v battery, which I know ICE also experiences.

Yea, the ICE trucks have been getting some OTA love since last week, too. Still waiting for mine to come through.

Just an FYI posting:

Yesterday, when I received the update, I had just driven the truck into town. The battery should have been charged up. I put my charger on the truck this morning and after sitting for just 12 hours of sitting, the battery is down to 12.1 volts and 21% charge. Seems when ever I get an OTA, I have just driven the truck and charged up the battery.... Dealer says the battery is good....

Talked to a person in my dealers service and they have a machine that checks the battery, IF the battery fails, THEN they get a code to replace the battery. Also, they have to scan the bar code to get the serial number of the defective battery. No code, no warranty replacement of the battery.

am I the only one with a May 2022 truck not receiving this update with the new Screen?

I know OTA works because I received one 9/17 for the one that says "this update makes your truck ready to receive more updates".
I have special rules in my home firewall (palo alto) so I can watch the updates
Ford is currently doing many upgrades on our 2020 Escape hybrid.
1/2 gig on 11/16, 1 gig 11/17, 32M 11/18, .5 gig, than 1 Gig on 11/19.
hell this should be a brand new vehicle by the time they are done (wish they could take the dent out of it)

all I ever see the F150 do is a couple DNS lookups than calling home to ford on 443 with a 10K keep alive
NOTE: the Escape updates are all port 80, (not encrypted) to amazonAWS network.
the F150 also makes calls on 80 to AWS but never more tan 2.5K.

I guess Ford just don't feel like updating my 2022 truck
I also have a May 2022 that received the 3.5.2 in September but I have not received any further updates

I also have a May 2022 that received the 3.5.2 in September but I have not received any further updates
I have a December 21 build (year model 22) that received 3.5.2 on 9/13/22 but still have not received any further updates.

unless your OTAs froze. thanks to this forum i was able to get passed the 1.7 freeze and am now receiving updates OTA. feel free to send the next one over. truck is waiting for it. thanks.
how did you unfreeze the OTA?

Guys how do you what version you have ? The other day it asked me to update something , I said yes and then next day it come on and told me I need to update again.

how did you unfreeze the OTA?
I saw on FB, they said to hard reset sync twice in a row, but I too would like to know. I am stuck on 2.6.0. Ive only received 3 updates since owning it. 1.3, 1.7, and 2.6 - Dec '20 build

What he was referring to was a bad update Ford was pushing out a while back ago which caused many job 1 owners to get stuck at a certain point it the OTA process where they would stop receiving updates. To this day, there are countless trucks out there stuck in OTA limbo and Ford has not done anything to help them. Without dealer intervention or the owner of the truck investing in a $550 tool and an FDRS license, their trucks are stuck not getting updates. I see you have a 2021. PM me your VIN and I'll look at your truck. There may be a way I can tell if you are affected by this issue or not.
