How to Find if Used F150 Has 36 Gallon Tank?

I am shopping for an '18-'20 F150 and I have a found a couple online that I am interested, however, I'm unable to generate the windows sticker using the VIN using the Ford online tool...which I wish would work! Half the time it says the window sticker isn't available:

So...I know that the 36 gallon tank comes with max tow, but when you are looking at vehicles online there isn't much of a way to determine that other than the upgraded hitch.

I also understand that the Miles to Empty would show ~600 if the fuel is full, but if the vehicle has been driven around the city for a couple of weeks that reading could be cut in half since the dash uses the most recent MPG in the Miles to Empty. Any other shortcut other than asking a sales rep to crawl under the truck and attempt to snap some photos?

My 22 is not max tow and has 36 gallon tank so it’s not just max tow.

Tow package gives the 36g tank as well as line-item optionable. Carfax should have access to the original sticker.

That truck does not have the 36 gallon.

Roundabout method maybe, but I pulled the AsBuilt data for it and looked at the specific IPC parameter and it's set to 26 gal.

Happy to check others if you don't want to jump through those hoops.

I can concur on the 26Gal Tank per iSee Cars VIN checker.

Google what a 26G and a 36G tank look like. Then look under the truck.

As mentioned above Carfax can pull the actual sticker. Depending on where your financing it they may offer a Carfax service, my credit union will run a Carfax on any vehicle if I ask them for one.

You have to sign-up and then click on the "Detail Specs", I know, it's a bit silly why it's programmed that way.

Yeah the site is wrong for me too, it is showing 26 gallons instead of 36.

When I was looking at used trucks and had issues with finding the window stickers; I would go to parts.ford and search using the VIN, then look up the parts I wanted to know the specs on. It’s pretty annoying but it works.

Pretty much 99% of used car dealerships don’t give two shits about the vehicles they’re selling and it shows in their weak sales efforts; which is why I wound up ordering a new truck.

The worst are the dealers that modify the trucks they flip and just like the awful home flippers they just ruin everything they touch with their awful ‘bro mods’ that make them useless.

The original link/VIN posted is a 26 gallon. I didn't pull the build sheet (I don't think that is public anymore, used to be able to). I pulled the AsBuilt data then looked at the instrument cluster module which has a parameter for tank size - that was set to 26 gallon.

The larger gas tank should be included with the max tow package but it is not. It needs to be ordered as a separate line item. When shopping for a truck in 2022 there were fewer than 3 out of 100 trucks that had the larger gas tank.
