How many miles have you squeezed out of your 36 gallon extended range tank?

My best yet is 691 - I filled up when the gas light came on and had 49 miles until empty on the trip computer.

I'm getting surprisingly great MPG on my current tank of gas. Driving in ECO mode 100% of the time, and overall driving in a very grandpa like fashion.

My current MPG reading is 26.5, with 240 miles traveled so far, and 663 on the distance to empty. Add those numbers together you get 900+.

I don't expect to reach anywhere near 900 miles, but will be pretty geeked if I reach 800 miles. Especially since gas is so expensive these days.

My truck is a 2022 F-150 3.5 EB with 3.31 rear end.

Best I've had so far was just shy of 700....Although, because of gas prices currently it's in the garage and I'm only driving the Grand Cherokee.

I would be thrilled to be getting 26.5. My 21' eco boost 3.5 computer says 18.6 mpg but I have a 3.55 rear end on mine so maybe that's the difference/plus driving habits? I like to get where I'm going quickly.....lol

I rarely go lower than half a tank but have tried a few times to see what kind of range the 36 gallon tank gets and even going down to 20-50 miles indicated until empty a couple times the tank only took 26 gallons.

Once on a round trip to California I went 650 miles on a tank and took it down to zero miles until empty and it still only took 30 gallons and change. I would be curious to know how much of the remaining 5 gallons was useable.

I have 2015 157” 4wd with 221k miles on it. It has the 3.5 ecoboost & 3.31 gear. Right now it shows 24.5mpg on the screen. That is always off about 10% for me, but I regularly get 21.5 to 22mpg hand calculated. With the 36 gallon tank I usually get about 650 miles between fill ups. It will go more but I just ain’t that adventurous any more. Not bad for a well worn 4wd crew cab long bed truck.

Pro tip - Pay close attention to the weight of your tires & wheels. They have a surprising effect on gas mileage. Mpg will even improve slightly as the tread wears down & the tires get lighter. I never would have believed it if I had not seen it myself.

My 2012 150, 5.0 , 3.31, 36 gallon started getting its best mpg. at about 15,000 miles on the odometer. I think that's at the point when everything is broke in or loosened up, so to speak. From there on out to 90,000 best was always 19.5 on trips. I'm thinking my 21 will break in and do a bit better as well, the improved 5.0 mpg. must be in part to the cylinder deactivation.
Your correct though. Unsprung weight and rolling resistance makes a Big difference. I'm running Michelin's for summer tires and I put the Factory Good Year M&S tires back on in late fall. I set them to about 37 psi so 2 psi over the door spec.

21 F150 - 740 miles - 3.5L - 3:55 - level and 33 inch off road tires.
Eco mode and grandpa driving - averaging roughly 23MPG

I should have left the street on and never put a level on 🥲

I have had a Powerboost on order now for what seems like most of my adult life. I drive like an old man, because I am, & I figured that if I can get 22mpg out of the ecoboost, I just might be able to get 25mpg out of the Powerboost. Hopefully, I will live long enough to find out. IF Ford ever decides to ship my new truck, I will let you know if it is worth the upgrade for the gas mileage.

At 221k on the odometer, have you had any problems with the truck?

I had one - ordered my current truck a month after I got it.

I had one - I ordered my current truck a month after I got my PB. Couldn't get advertised MPG's despite significant efforts. Albeit, I only owned it during mostly winter months, and MPG seemed to improve in the spring before I got my new truck in April.

I'm not here to scare you away from the PowerBoost, it's great in many ways, it just wasn't for me.

I have just a bit over 1k miles on the truck.
around 600 of that is 2 short trips a week 27 miles one way to my doc. 300 ish is highway of sustained over 70, but more like 75 for 50 plus miles one way
100 or so to the dealer 25 miles away at 60- 70 mph farm raod
last week mpg jumped on the doc trip up past 19 and was climbing

today we drove after i filled up with mid grade , got on tollway and ran 72-78 for 50 or so miles and mpg is back at barely 18 (17.8 to 18) , even though the week prior on same trip it was round trip at 19 .
today truck felt sluggish, not missing , just like it was dragging something, this toll way is mostly FLAT with normal over pass climbs at exits, and this trip is was downshifting at each one out of 10 to 8
this was in NORMAL mode, with normal winds and OAT of 103F , engine was at 192 to 199 and trans was 200-212
i did switch to sport for 2 red lights once we got off the toll way to see if it helped he HMMMFP which it did vastly

so big question is what are people getting for real world empty MPG at 70 mph?
i have 3.31 rear gears as well and 4x4 crew cab with a 50 or so lb tool box in the bed. a/c on 65, medium fan

i had a 2013 1st gen eco boost in a 150 crew cab kr 4x4 3.55 , 6 speed it got 19 to 20 at texas speeds of 70 -75 on highway
my 2016 kr 4x4 3.73 gears eco boost expedition got 19 as well and it was 6400lbs
my 2021 superduty 250 4x4 3.31 got 23 at 75 mph. and 17 in town "

thats from my 3.5 post .
