How is 5 0 paired 3.73 gears for fuel economy when towing? Currently have the 3.5 with 3.55 gears and its a pig when towing anything.

Checking to see if anyone has the 21 5.0 with 3.73 gears and how it is for fuel when towing. I have the 3.5 with 3.55 and i cant believe how bad it is when towing any load. Looking for options as I tow smaller loads often but I do have 9500lb trailer I town 3- 4times a year. I had the 2018 5.0 with 3.31 which was awesome on fuel when towing in comparison to the 3.5. Anyway does anyone have the 5.o with 3.73 gears and can share their experience. Possibly looking at trading

I have owned both combos, both long wheelbase trucks. Quite simply the 5.0 was garbage for towing in comparison.

Mileage of the 5.0 was slightly better, more likely because the bogging, slowing down and cruise never holding the speed correctly.
