There has been a wide range of responses to the current situation we all presently find ourselves in. There have been dealerships who have stood up and honored the deals they made with their customers and there have been dealerships who are taking advantage of the situation and charging outrageous amounts above MSRP now the supply is way below demand. I figured it might be good to create a spreadsheet with those dealers who are still offering "deals" or at the very least honoring the deals made at order vs those who are charging above MSRP. Fill in with your situation or information on pricing. Please copy the chart in your response and add to it. If everyone will copy the last version at the end of the thread and do the same. It is hard to keep up with lol.
Dealer | Honorable? |
---|---|
Estabrook Ford Pascagoula MS | Very, honored deal made in March $9k below MSRP |
Mulinax Ford Florida | Honoring deals and selling below MSRP |
Granger Ford | Beating x plan |
Cook Ford | Negotiated 9% below window sticker in early March. Ordered truck. Dealer still had dozens of F-150’s on lot. Once ordered & market turned, no trucks coming in & no ordered trucks coming in the dealership is now demanding $2500 above sticker. Told me if I don’t want it no big deal…they’ll sell it. well no shit. To be honest, nothing is final until truck comes in. All I know is I’m not paying $2500+ for a 1 yr old truck. This is a $8500 price swing |
Castle Rock Ford, Co. | Great to work with. I ordered with another dealer in late March and they dropped the ball on the order and never sent it to Ford. I went to Castle Rock Ford Friday, 5/7, and ordered through them. In less than an hour they had my truck ordered and excepted by Ford. At this time no discounts were being offered. Tuesday morning, 5/11 they called with a VIN and build week of 6/14. They even told Ford what the other dealer had done and got it put to a 1 Priority. Built 6/19 and shipped 6/22. Truck arrived 7/12. When I picked it up yesterday they give the $1000 discount, $500 military discount and added in a $1500 trade in discount. I also got 1.9% financing from Ford. They also have a lifetime/unlimited mileage drivetrain warranty through their dealership at no charge. |
Sun State Ford, Orlando | Can we warn people about dealers to stay away? Sun state Ford in Orlando. I walked in ready to place an order and down payment based on what we had previously negotiated by email. I ended up changing the color and adding 360 camera package after getting there. They came back with a final price that was like $2500 higher than what we agreed on (the camera package is less than $1000) and they got mad when I didn't just immediately sign the dotted line without reviewing the build sheet. I asked about the huge price change, sales guy got pissed, talked to some manager and said I'd have to wait for the main sales manager to come back the next day. Needless to say I wasted 2 hours of my life and ordered from somewhere else. |
Penske Ford, La Mesa, Ca. | Reputable, Shan Persaud, honored X Plan pricing at delivery time. Plus gave deal on 2 year extended warranty with X Plan. |
Ford of Clermont, Clermont, FL. | Good dealership- Ordered in March with large deposit and picked up on 9 June. They honored the price we settled on, with X-plan, got me 0.9% for 4 years, and found a 2k rebate (trumped my $500 military rebate). You have to stay on top of them with requests, they aren't really the best at returning calls. That is, until the vehicle is shipped and I asked for the VVR, then I got daily emails updating where my truck was. This was the 2nd vehicle I've bought from them and I will go back if I want to buy another Ford. |
DCH Ford of Eatontown, NJ | - NOT Reputable. Upon delivery at the end of June, they would not honor the X-Plan pricing that they agreed to at the time the truck was ordered in April. They also charged over $700 in Documentation Fees. I firmly believe that they had no intention of honoring the price from the time I placed the order, but saw the situation as a way to place a Retail order with Ford so they would have a truck sooner than their Stock orders. |
Junge Ford in Cedar Rapids Iowa. | Bought a brand new Platinum Powerstroke from them. They gave me X-plan pricing without hesitation. Very patient with my requests and communication. They even met me, truck and papers, at the airport for me to sign and drive home, on the 4th a July, a day in which their dealership is closed. Awesome people! |
Chapman of Horsham | 3% under invoice for F-150 & Superduty retail orders...plus tax/tags & $394 pa doc (excludes Raptor) |
All American Ford in Old Bridge, NJ: | They accepted X-Plan when I picked up my truck as agreed upon in March when I ordered. They were not accepting AXZD plans any longer when I picked it up and the sales manager supposedly had to sign off on it. However, I learned a lot about the ordering process since then and questions I should have asked at the time. They only gave me the incentives available when I picked it up, not those from March when I ordered. It probably wouldn't have been a huge difference in price, but something I'll remember for a future purchase if/when the time comes. |
Tomball Ford in Tomball TX: | As some of you may be aware I had ordered a King Ranch on 1 Mar before all the supply chain issues showed up. As such I was able to secure a very favorable deal on the truck (well below MSRP). The truck came in late May and I flew out there to pick it up and put it on a trailer to CA where I'm currently living. As I have posted previously the trailer caught fire and my truck burned down 3 hrs from getting here. Jorge Lopez at Tomball Ford was able to turn around and reorder my truck immediately and I'm now scheduled to be built on Friday 30 Jul. Not only do they have the size to be able to get high priority for builds Jorge honored the same price for the replacement truck that we had agreed upon back in Mar. This was at the very end of May when dealers were throwing on "market adjustment" fees to charge above MSRP. Highly recommend talking with Jorge at Tomball if you're in Houston/SE Texas. Looking forward to picking up the truck, hopefully within the next month, and of course driving it back here to CA this time around. |
Fairway Ford of Ohio | is very good. Was very patient and didn’t charge any unnecessary fees. They kept me updated the entire time and helped me grab my 21 and have it shipped out to AZ. |
Woodhouse in Blair Nebraska | was excellent to work with. Ordered me a truck with no retainer and honored pricing and the trade I had was agreed upon before I drove to see the new truck. Great after-the-sale service and they deliver to your house. |
Sunnyvale Ford Walnut Creek Ford | both are still car dealers, but both have proven fair and reasonable in my experience with excellent mechanical service |
Towne Ford | Ione on my questionable list: |
Fremont Ford | one on my assclown shameless timewaster list: |
Frontier Ford on stevens creek | to the ass clown shameless timewaster list |
Granger | I can vouch for Granger, very honorable. 3% under invoice, @GrangerChip is the best, will not hesitate in recommending them for any vehicle. |
Walnut Creek Ford | seemed full of games to me. I ended up with Napa Ford on a new order @invoice price. Still haven’t gotten it, so there’s still a lot that could change. |
Walnut Creek Ford | Fair enough. I got a very straight deal, no mark-up, highest trade-in valuation of two other Ford dealers, but you can't step in the same river twice and I wouldn't be surprised to find it was the individuals I encountered there. There's just no way to get below msrp on a PowerBoost for the last few months, and new/used inventory is severely depleted for all models of all makers, but I think prices are trending down as the "chip shortage" and the "covid" supplier problems are being worked out and supply side logistics have been improving (same for furniture and kitchen appliances or groceries in supermarkets.) |
Chapman Ford in Horsham | was great to work with. Ordered my Leadfoot Lariat Sport on April 3 with Steve after a coworker's recommendation. Took delivery July 23 and they honored the agreed upon price under invoice, plus rebates and a PCO! |
Olathe, KS Ford. | Ordered F-150 4/11 by a repeat customer. Deal was invoice price less $1600 w / FMC financing in rebates. If better rebates available when truck delivered, they would apply. Truck delivery 7/26 and no better deals available (way less by then) so went with original deal. Happy that dealer pulled no BS and honored original deal. Truck in garage per original deal. Nice to see no changes at the end, Good job by Olathe Ford. |
Cotrac Ford. | Rather small rural but they make up in complete honesty without the regular bull-shit other dealers swear by. They accepted my Z-Plan, and a total of $5000 March incentives, and as always they threw in 5 extras. Drop in liner, front window tint, visors, wethertech mats. And a great trade-in for my 2019 Stealth Expedition. |
