Has anybody found out a way to get a HIGH BEAM trigger without using the PAC canbus module on a 2021+ F150? LED Headlights don't have a +12V high-beam anymore, as it's controlled via the CANBUS and done internally in the headlight. Like many, I want to trigger a relay (which will trigger some off-road lights) when my high-beam goes off. BUT again, LED headlights have no +12VDC high beam trigger. Sooo anybody come up with a solution (OTHER then the PAC module, which I hear is problematic).

You could run the high beam wire through this CT and turn on a high current relay for your lights. You would have to get one that will sense the current of a high beam LED.

You could run the high beam wire through this CT and turn on a high current relay for your lights. You would have to get one that will sense the current of a high beam LED.

That's not how they work. Trucks with LED headlights utilize the CANBUS system. That's just a data system that tells modules what to do. INSIDE the headlight is where it turns the high beam on and off. You'd have to open up the headlight and access the internal module to get a signal wire and nobody wants to do that.

The CANBUS isn't a signal you can grab 12V off of.

There are modules that plug in-line to this, read the canbus data and then give you a +12VDC trigger BUT they are known to fail left/right which is why im trying to avoid using them (PAC makes one)

I thought the module was mounted under the headlight assembly and not inside.

I thought the module was mounted under the headlight assembly and not inside.
Still Im not about to open that up. That thing is sealed

There has to be a wire running from a Fuse to the headlights. These CT do come with a trigger level adjustment screw. Adj for current draw over low beam current draw.

Example low beam current draw is 1 amp. With highbeams 2 amps. CT adjusted to trigger at 1 1/2 amps on headlight power feed wire.

That's not the correct product for what im trying to do. That device won't provide me a +12VDC trigger.

When it senses a current flow higher than the trigger setting, it closes a relay contact. This can be used to energize your off road lights.

This one is for AC, but the DC ones are the same configuration. Headlight wire at or near the fuse block is run through the hole in the sensor. K1 & K2 are your relay contacts to supply power to your higher current relay. CS adjusts trip level.
