It’s happened to me twice now as well. First time it started after about 20 minutes. Second time it was well over 2 hours before it started. I tried starting it via the app, removing the key fob from the truck and surrounding area, no luck. My dealer had no clue either and of course bringing it in after the fact is worthless. My biggest fear is that I’ll be towing my trailer and run into this problem. Super frustrating.

Hi - Looking for feedback from the forum or Ford on an issue I have had 2x now. I have got into my '23 F150 Powerboost to leave for work and this message pops up on the dash when I try to start the vehicle. The truck will not start and I can't use the gear select out of park. Definitely have a major concern about being stranded somewhere. Anyone else had this issue and what the fix is?

Same exact issue has happen to my 2023 f150 limited. Dealer had it the 1st time for 10 days and couldnt replicate the problem and no error codes to go off of. They guessed what was wrong and they reset a few modules and charged my battery as a fix... 3 days last 2nd time it happened I was stranded for 1 hr 20 minutes. Brought it into the dealer again, and got a direct message from ford, they are investigating the problem, in the mean time if it happens again, they advise leaving the vehicle for 30 minutes and come back and it should start. Wow what a great fix Ford.

I see that 2 codes are mentioned in the Oasis ticket/record for your truck.
I'm no professional technician, but I can at least follow the evidence and see what is available to the technician as a pathway for diagnostics.

P1A43 code is very specific (not generic) and mentions the signal harness and connections from the Hybrid Battery.

The technician is instructed to go to pinpoint test L

The DTC is associated with the BECM module and the U0293:00 DTC (from your ticket) is mentioned as well.

This code is referenced more than 120 times and is references lost communications between the Hybrid EV Power Control Module and 1 of many other modules. Below is the first 3 of 127 references. In this case the APIM module is the other module.

It goes on and on referencing the same failure of communication between the Hybrid EV Power Control module and another module.

Probably explains why the suggestion to make sure the Gateway Module is updated and checked first? Afterall, it IS the "gateway" that multiple networks and modules are connected to in order to communicate with each other.

I believe we have one forum member who reported a harness was replaced on his truck as a remedy.
I believe another has stated that the harness connector connection at the SOBDMC (next to the 12V AGM battery) was suspect and re-ensured for a good connection. For him so far so good.

A competent company would observe the changes made in 23 and begin a process of elimination / intentionally duplicating the failure mode to make sure it is what they think it is. We're 2 months in so I decided to infiltrate their offices with a hidden camera to share the results. Not promising :(

Something very similar happened to me with my powerboost over the weekend. Left me stranded on the interstate in 95 degree weather 3 hours from home. Ford's roadside service couldn't find anyone to tow it and we had to find our own wrecker. They did say they will pay for it. No word from the dealer on cause yet.

I’ve had my truck back for a week now and so far so good. Had the same problem and dealer had it for 5 weeks to get it fixed. Anyway my service ticket is posted on a similar thread. It might give your tech some info. I think it’s the one about anyone regretting getting a powerboost. Good luck to you.

I’m all set to waste my time at the dealer tomorrow for similar issues. To make it even more fun, the check engine light disappeared today. Are the codes logged or have they reset after a few days, never to be seen again?

Mine was towed in and they experienced the no start condition as well as stop safely now, service engine soon alert. They were able to pull codes off mine. So I guess I was lucky in that regard.

I had my Check Engine light come on, but it went off before the shop appointment. The technician was still able to pull codes.

2023 Ford F150 Lariat 3.5L PowerBoost V6
First time posting to this forum, and first time Ford owner with a new 2023 F-150 Lariat 3.5L PowerBoost purchased this past May. I've experienced the "Stop Safely Now" issue twice - both in my own driveway and for no apparent reason - once a few weeks ago around 1500 miles and once yesterday around 2000 miles. Both times the only solution was basically shutting it back down, going back into the house and leaving it alone for 15 minutes, then trying again as if nothing had happened. Odd behavior, and doesn't give me a lot of confidence that the issue isn't going to keep popping up -- hopefully not at an inopportune time when in a rush or emergency. Did find this article below regarding this issue with Ford vehicles, but no clear answers there either --

https://www.wheelsjoint.com/stop-saf...how-to-fix-it/

Will call dealership next to see about options to get this fixed --

My 2023 had this happen after 6 months and 6000 miles. A quick Google search said to use the key fob to lock the door and to then open the door. I rarely use the key fob, I normally just touch the handle. So I tried this and it started right up. Now I don't know if it was just because I let it sit for 5 minutes while I was searching the internet, so was it simply letting it sit or was it the key fob that fixed it?

I was on a vacation with a large travel trailer ready to leave my campsite. But no place is ideal. At least it was summer and not in a blizzard or something! I will keep my eye on this thread!
