Hi - Looking for feedback from the forum or Ford on an issue I have had 2x now. I have got into my '23 F150 Powerboost to leave for work and this message pops up on the dash when I try to start the vehicle. The truck will not start and I can't use the gear select out of park. Definitely have a major concern about being stranded somewhere. Anyone else had this issue and what the fix is?

Try phone remote start. Odd this seems to be showing up on 23s more frequently.

Hey there. I can look into your F-150’s concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

I had this issue on May 24. It’s now been at the dealer 16 days. They told me last week they would “replace the battery control module c and try that as a starting point.” Then called to check in yesterday and was told the part was back ordered and they don’t know when it will become available. Good luck.

Does the red battery shaped symbol on the lower right side suggest it's a 12V bus issue? Perhaps disconnect the negative posts of both 12V batteries for a few minutes. I probably shouldn't just throw out ideas when I have no clue. Disregard.

Because phone remote start uses the traditional starter or was that the key fob? I forget.

Ya know... I heard about so many gremlins in these, many of which seem to lead back to the 12vdc battery... I'd go out and get an aftermarker 12vdc battery and put it in.

When you mean 12vdc battery. That is the normal one in the engine compartment?

I wouldn't be so quick to discount your suggestion.

In fact, if a FordPass remote start command didn't work immediately, the very next thing I would do is disconnect BOTH 12V batteries.

Afterall, the vast majority of these reports are of trucks that eventually (perhaps an hour later) return to normal behavior. Since it takes approximately 75 minutes for one of these trucks to completely shut down after you exit the truck, perhaps that "~hour" is just a complete fresh reboot of the truck?

Disconnecting both batteries should hasten/force a similar cycle?

Interesting that you are around the 2500mi mark. Thats about where I'm at and I've had this issue once. I saw at least 1 other person around that mileage as well. Please keep us posted if you discover a definite cause.

I have a 2023 Powerboost. I had the same problem.

Underneath the 12V battery, there's a control module, a big orange connector. The blue tab was missing on mine.

Add me to the list of "Stop Safely Now" issues. Drove the truck to work, everything was fine. Two hours later I tried to start it, go the same message. Fortunately it started using the App and now seems to be ok. This is strike 2 for this truck and I've only had it a month.

Hi there, Gil. This message concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
